I've been using a 1070Ti for all my stuff. It's a bit slow sometimes (especially when inpainting at higher resolutions) but it gets the job done. Maybe like 20-30 seconds to generate an image at half resolution or 3-4 minutes at full, which is somewhat manageable but can often mean a few hours of trying to get the details how I want them (or at least good enough that I don't feel like putting any more time in)

and yeah i was devastated by my dog's passing. i'm not sure if it can be helped, i wish you don't but be prepared for it to hurt for a long while. getting a new dog helped me. at first i was standoffish and didn't see the point, my old dog couldn't be replaced, but i realized this new dog also deserves love and it's fine because i will never forget any of them it's not a competition etc. you can't do anything more for the dead only the living. yours are still alive so you should give them as much love as you can, it is the right thing to do, but again be prepared for it to hurt that much more. good luck.

the tragic thing is that they are both so happy and are smiling all the time and they wag their tales, but as spaniels they'd do that however they are feeling. they both have dementia. one wakes up randomly day and night and gets lost and scared and starts crying unless someone comes and finds him, he had a cyst on his back which burst, and he keeps licking the wound, so it hasn't healed and it's been there nearly a year. we frequently check if it's cancerous and it still isn't, but he rips any bandaging off of it to get at it, so it must be uncomfortable for him. we've tried everything but he won't leave it alone and it won't heal. he has poor vision and is deaf so he must live in a really scary world where he forgets things all the time and has no idea what's going on, with a big open wound on his back.

the other dog has a terrible spine, his back legs barely work, he also has dementia, and poor hearing/vision. because of his spine he can't control himself and pees and poops everywhere all the time, and then when he notices he gets really uncomfortable and scared because he knows he's done wrong.

i'm kinda stable right now, but i can hear my mum calling the vet for me in the other room, and idk how i'll feel when the day comes. it's just not fair, they are the 2 people that return me all the love and affection i dump on them, and they have to leave me.
