It's natural for a man to have the desire to provide and to support someone, if you don't have it, you are a failure and is the downfall of the human race.
Usually, these feelings are supposed to be directed towards a wife or children, but nowadays marriage and kids are out of the question, makes no sense, so I spend it on my oshi instead, even then, there are only a few vtubers that are really worth it, most of them just want to take it or take advantage of this natural feeling.

Vtuber takes hours out of their day to entertain me. I give them a tip as thanks to encourage them to keep going.

that is different for everyone, some are good company, some have big dreams that inspire you, some just deserve recognition for their efforts, but the biggest problem is what makes the majority of them unworthy of it.

i am grown up enough to understand that if you like something and want for it to keep existing, you need to support it financially first and foremost

I have no hobbies beside vtubers. I only spend money on food. I have a 4000$ setup. I have a car and a house to my name. I don't trust charities.
I don't need more money, so I don't invest. I might as well try to make the life of someone who's able to entertain me better.
I only donate to 2views and less though.

I have a few memberships for emotes, and occasionally get merch if its good. I think the people that superchat are a necessary part of the engine to keep the content I like running though, so whatever their reason, I thank them for their disposable income so I can watch fun 3D concerts.

I decided a while back that after an entire life of pirating pretty much everything I'd pay/give something to individual/smaller creators I really enjoy, those that try doing uncommon stuff or at least keeps my attention for prolonged amounts of time when I have the extra money to do so. Especially with indies, they're gratitude and appreciation is palpable. It just feels like I'm doing a good thing

Consistency, fun and/or uncommon content. If a vtuber takes minimum breaks they already have some respect from me. And if their content is actually entertaining on top of that, i become a fan. A lot of bigger projects take time, effort and money to actually produce and get right, so i don't mind donating if I know it means it helps get those projects done or makes them better in some way. They're doing it for our entertainment after all
