There are plenty of pop singers who sound like a dying cat live, but their MVs get hundreds of millions of views. Why? IRyS is a weird case in that she's arguably not the best singer in EN despite being the EN vsinger. The issue IRyS has is she isn't naturally talented at singing. She suffers the same issue that Suisei has. They both had to work really hard to get good at singing. The problem is that singing is 99% genetics and raw natural talent. So you can only go so far no matter how hard you practice. Gura and Mumei both have natural singing talent. Honestly I checked out the VSinger thread out of curiosity a few weeks back and it just simply turns out that aside from superstars like Suisei, Hololive just doesn't have super proficient singers. Sure Sora for example can use some opera inspired techniques but there are some chuubas who are true professional opera singers. When you've come to terms with this it becomes clear that Hololive does not stand on the merits of pure talent, but on the characters they play. So when you look at IRyS, sure she may have a pleasant sounding voice, but she doesn't have the grinded-to-the-top inspirational backstory of Suisei or the gimmick of Mori and so on. IRyS is just another singer, and irregardless of her skill there are just far better singers outside of Holo so that's not the axis you should try to win your audience with.
