Most people on this board stopped really caring about streams and focus more on drama and numbers. When the most popular and highest quality EN vtubers in the world stream only a handful of times a month, it's no surprise.

I basically drift from one to another, sometimes following recommendations on this board. I currently have three whom I make any effort to keep up with and a few more whom I'll drop in to watch occasionally.

I have a handful of favorites then I check up on what they're streaming. If it's interesting I'll watch it, if it's not I don't and wait until another stream that catches my attention. But my Oshi is different, I make time to watch her streams

If it's gyaru theme'd, I do not care, I'll watch. If more than one are live at once, I'll watch one and catch the vods.
Exception is vsingers. Can just listen and do work while they sing. For vsingers I look for ones that cover what I like.

I subscribe/follow a fuckload of chuubas that I think I would watch and then look at who's live when I want to watch a stream and pick the one who's playing the game or doing whatever else that interests me the most.

Sometimes you gotta cut off some of the dead wood. The times where you gotta be there for everything (holo was starting out) has long passed. I too followed/subbed to a bunch...then pruned that and still have 95% that I just don't watch unless it's something I want to see. It's just how it is.

There's no need to balance when you're loyal to your oshi

Okayu is on, I watch. Depending what ina is doing, I watch. Polka fills gaps. Vinny or Jerma fills the late night block usually.

The key is to just start masturbating. Eventually the chemicals in your brain will lock you onto a specific chuuba. This has helped me.

I don't. I only watch 1 streamer over a month's timespan. I keep up with the rest by checking their twitter, and they only get my attention if they have a good design+voice+stream games I like (even though I don't watch)

I check out new vtubers during dead hours and keep watching those that are entertaining enough. Those new vtubers will gradually replace some of the older ones, which eventually leads to more dead hours. Rinse and repeat.

Clips, lots and lots of clips. Then if any look interesting check out the vods they're from, then if it was good scroll through the backlog looking for anything interesting, once you've watched a few check the threads for info.
If you just mean how to have enough time, 2x speed, multiple streams at once, multiple monitors, etc...
Mostly I wind up watching the smaller corpos and liggers because there are so many clips of holos and nijis there's almost no point checking the vods.

check out vods or new debuts if I have the time, even from smaller corpos because you can find someone suited for you
over time you drop/replace those you don't care for much and curate a collection

I only watch 3. One's a 2view who doesn't just play apex or flavor of the month shit, mostly streams morning JP time and is chill as fuck. One's great at ASMR and the chat is almost elways entertaining. The last one I watch because of my crippling addiction to oppai lolis

As a working adult with many responsibilities in my life, those 3 are the best bang for my buck for me.
