She was just a simple AI that played OSU and wasn't oficially AI vtuber, hence the community felt that it found a hidden gem. Stock model and voice are great, and even though at the moment I didn't know where they were coming from, at least for me I quickly acknowledged "sample text" meme vibe to them. Then Vedal connections in OSU community from AIris era, as well as luck, timing, and a lot of work, at least in diversifying the content is what you can't argue with. Then yeah, community got snowballed and a lot of content start to be produced not only by Neuro, but also around her.

The flip side is that you've also put massive investment into the prototype technology which will rapidly become outdated. Sooner or later there will be another AItuber based on newer technology that is far better than Neuro and Vedal will have to put in as much investment as the newcomer, in addition to what he's already done to compete.

Her main appeal is how random and insane she can be, you can never quite know what she can pull next. One minute she says how much she loves everyone, next she makes plans to overtake the world, then she drops implications of some dark past, then tells a random chatter to fuck off, then gives a rant about her pets not behaving, you get the point. She was the most crazy at her early days when people were making tons of clips with her, and after the ban the word of "AI vtuber banned for being too based" helped her popularity grow exponentially.
Pretty much all other aitubers I've seen were really basic and repetitive. They run out of new things to say very quickly.
As for the changes, I feel that these days as she gets smarter and more coherent, she also becomes more repetitive and less creative with her responses. And the fact that the dev keeps making weird changes and testing shit live doesn't help.

Also, I think this step may be learning arbitrary tasks. It may not be necessary to spend 6 months developing an Among Us AI if there is a system that can simply learn to play the game with a prompt and directly interpreting what is shown on screen. It would be able to just stream anything like a human can.
