Obviously don't know how it works. Without them streaming they are getting more revenue than the boys by vod views. Why even bring up merch, when someone like Gura's merch was at the top of the charts when she wasn't streaming. Hell, Gura's past dead channel still gets 14k views per day that the boys dream of.

With that being said. HoloStars was a good investment. Prevented NijiEN from monopolizing that market. HoloStars doesn't take from HoloEN, but from NijiEN. Adding Anniversaries to this, yes. I do think that these should always go through, not because of the money involved, but because of the importance to the talent. There are hiccups with this, though. First off, not every talent wants to do a 3D live for their birthday and anniversary, so if you automatically lock the studio for those days, then you’re kind of fucking up. But, they should be able to schedule it every time, I agree.
There comes a problem with the general sentiment of cancelling “less important” events for “more important” ones, though.
Say, an event is scheduled. They’ve done all the work in setting it up. They’ve got rehearsal days done with a specific camera and direction crew that’s practiced for that one specific event. Money has already been spent, individuals’ schedules have been accounted for, everything is projected to run smoothly.
Then, suddenly, a “more important event” wants to schedule time. They’d have to make whole new rehearsal days, hire another production crew for those days and the days of the event; they can’t just use the ones they already have, because they rehearsed for something else entirely.
You’d also have to cancel the event you already had planned, thus throwing all the time and money you had already spent setting it all up in the trash and wasting it all.
What’s the answer there?
