If it's the first few times she made tacos it's not that bad honestly, but if that how she's been doing it it really need improvement.
Sauce need to be thicker, if it's regular ol' hot sauce then it fine weird but fine.
Tomatoes need to be a biiiit smaller that's a big piece on there.
More meat per taco is necessary.
Cheese is fine it's optional.

There is no such a thing as a hard shell, but there are tacos dorados/quesadillas/tacos rojos (name changes depending the what state you are on) which could technically be a hard shell taco, you get your tortilla, fill it with mashed potatos or cheese or rajas or pulled beef, you fold them in half and fry them in lard, then you get cabbage and tomatoes on the side with cream and white cheese on top, but they are way different still to the taco bell stuff still.

Shell aside, you can literally see the grease pool from the ground beef. She didn't strain off the fat and I'm sure the beef is seasoned with some packaged taco seasoning that's been sitting on a shelf for at least a year. Couple that with the fact it's just shredded cheese, again pre-packaged, with the saddest smattering of lettuce and two pieces of sad grocery store tomato and there's absolutely nothing decent about it.

It's literally just as poor quality as a Taco bell taco.

It depends, but soft tortillas are basically mandatory.
It's like a sandwich when made at home (in that you can put practically anything in it and call it a taco), but when bought from a cart, a generic "taco" typically means beef (cooked on a flattop grill or shaved off of a vertical spit) served on top of one or two (typically smaller) corn tortillas, sometimes accompanied by grilled Spring Onions, always served alongside chopped cilantro, onions, salsa (featuring tomatillo and dried chile de arbol, blended),and lemon wedges. Usually, chorizo (spiced pork sausage) is also an option at these carts.
Unless you live in a heavily Mexican populated area and you can find a CHEAP taco spot, you will be better served by looking up a sensible seeming alambre recipe (with bell peppers) and eating that with tortillas (and lemon to cut through the richness) than trying to replicate that quintessential taco at home.
