It's literally telling people, "I've been a fan of this person for this long". Most extra content is not worth it for the content since it just gets reposted somewhere, like karaoke stuff. But extra community stuff is kind of nice if they use it, since it lets them talk about things that aren't really important but might be interesting anyway. And they can poll their members for things, which makes the membership mean more for deciding what content you get occasionally. Some of them even do viewer participation stuff, like Mario Kart or whatever. But it's something you'd have to ask another member about before you join someone, and you'd have to make you can get real information rather than someone gushing about how great their oshi is.

In my case, I had a nightmare where all the HoloMen were getting chased and slaughtered by a cartel. It made me think about what my life would be like if they were gone. Shortly after, Fubuki made a stream where she made the same question and asked if you checked their twitter to see if they were ok (i did). So I decided to start joining, and my first was Rushia in her 1 Mill stream.

As for if it's worth it, it's not a lot of money. I don't know about you guys but if I went to Japan and ran into Fubuki, i wouldn't ask for an autograph. I'd ask to take her out to eat and hang out. $5 is like buying her a burger. I'm more than willing to part with that as a fan.

Content wise, it's not a lot. Miko makes wallpapers for us to download, Rushia makes girlfriend posts and sometimes rants a bit, Korone asked us to decide what the next goods would be, Polka is writing a book, Haachama speaks normally, stuff like that.
