EN and ID have proven incompatible with JP on a cultural level they had their chance to prove themselves and fucked it plus their internet connection is so shitty adding them to any collab just makes it almost unplayable.
ID and EN should already big enough they should handle their own events alone EN should have EN3 and even EN4 already and JP events started with less than that but now it's so big they don't have room for the side branches they need to fend for themselves there's no point in having ptiy on them and forcing them to be on every JP collab is just not worth it, most of JP don't give a fuck about EN or lol ID either and EN fans don't seem to care about watching JP either.
So why keep this charade at all? Removing them entirely from the collab might be overkill but trying to integrate everyone from EN and ID on the JP collabs is just fucking retarded at this point.

The real grown up take: a service provider, specifically an entertainer, told its customers and audience that if they did not like the new direction of her content, a direction which is not in line with the entire brand, identity and selling point of the group she is a part of and is meant to represent on their local market it was their fault because they weren't good enough as human beings.
That if they did not like this new content direction that contradicts her company's they were the problem not her. And the solution was for them to improve as people which simply means accepting she's right and above the rest of her company.
A company which is responsible for her existence in the first place and her relevance and all the profit she's ever made from it.

This was practically four years ago.
Over a year after before Ame debuted and about a year after Fubuki (Gen 1) debuted, Gen 3 did not even exist yet.
Also about a year before Hololive truly became big and what it is today.
This is the early awkward age of Hololive, before it found its real niche and solidified its place in the market.
It's like saying Crunchyroll should start pirating anime and ignoring copyright just because it's what they did when they started out.
Or saying Coca Cola should put cocaine in its drinks again.
Hololive has existed avoiding male presence on streams for longer than it did with it and no males on stream has since become an integral part of what makes Hololive recognizable and unique. Things were different and there are very simple reasons for it.
In the past the vtuber world was smaller and people just collabed more with those outside their close group but now Hololive has 35 talents so it does not need to do that, and Nijisanji has like 200.

They don't go out of their way collab witht he stars specifically, they don't do it weekly and hang out and play games, they don't collab with them more than they collab with the rest of the branch, they don't have them as their buddies front and center on their streams every week.

Not all rules are written and not all standards are planned from the start. Often rules are put in place when they are needed to preserve what is the not explicit but accepted as ideal form of something. And this being a Japanese company it's still all a bit vague, note how NijiEN exposed how Nijisanji handles things. Any "break' or "vacation" or "sick day" is just a suspension. Not saying Hololive does that exact thing just saying that rules aren't always public.
Sometiems there's no rule because everyone goes along with what's accepted already so it's not needed. Some rules are just consensus between people. Hololive members obviously know their fans don't want males on stream, just like Ame did, but they accept it and don't do it it and they must understand it's better if the entire group avoids it.

They have literal 3 views in their ranks. Many Hololive fans had no idea they even existed for a long time.
The closest thing to a boom they've had had to be like a perfect storm of HoloEN not debuting a new gen for so fucking long people grew desperate, Kobo having a good model and acting retarded enough to make a good first impression, Moona being adopted by Pekora as her new buddy and doing a great show on the Holofes and Reine becoming Kiara's new girlfriend.
And their numbers are still bad and Kobo has fallen off already.
They were never truly integrated into HoloJP and they are still not truly part of HoloEN either. They do their own thing and were never noteworthy. HoloEN came out with a massive bang, bigger numbers than even HoloJP, HoloID was a low stakes side branch but HoloEN was the real deal for the international market.
That's why they don't matter, they do not define Hololive because they are barely a footnote for Hololive.
3 collabs in 2 weeks is insane, HoloEN barely collabs at all and many don't stream that much so for 3 of their streams in 2 weeks to be collabs and with the Holostars after they just came out really seemed like the Nijisanji direction. NijiEN collabs much more and more often but by Hololive standards those 3 collabs seemed like they could lead to a complete integration of the two branches.
Calli collabing with some males on a sort of podcast stream is pretty much just idol-like content. She was a celebrity guest on their host show on their channel. There might have been objections but at least this is really in line with what can be normally seen in Hololive. Sora does similar shit, even Korone has dome similar things. It's perfectly normal.
