The so called "highest earner" talent in hololive only makes around 1 million per year, 30% portion goes to YouTube, then another 35% portion goes to the streamer. Cover only gets around 35%, and that portion also gets taxed, so Cover probably only gets around 200k.

Actually no. You can reject someone's application because he is not japanese if you feel like it, during hiring the only forbidden thing is discriminate based on the age, but even with this employers find ways to make old people NOT apply or put some age limit with bullshit reasons.
When you are employed it's different there should be no discriminations between employees, but then again, there are loopholes, for example they can chose to pay women less because "they might have to leave for maternity"...
