I think they're okay if they are a very rare occurrence, and/or if they're for a specific stream related expense/upgrade. If a chuuba has been streaming for a couple of years and wants to upgrade something big, I don't see the problem with scheduling one. The problem comes when a chuuba's only been around a couple months and decides to have one or has one for her birthday and then her anniversary and Christmas, etc.
I think the distinction between a subathon and a donothon is important too. While donothons essentially are the same as a subathon, subathons at least have the effect of bringing in new viewers.
