Expensive mics don't necessarily mean good ones, sometimes they'll be stupid pricey just from the brand alone. Look into buying dynamic mics maybe, I hear those are pretty good for streamers. Also, you might wanna fiddle with filters, it might be better to just have the raw audio with maybe a noise gate so you don't peak, rather than having a lot of filters so your voice doesn't really come across as blurred or machiney.

I think competition is dying down at least a little bit. From the indies I talk to, corpos just aren't as enticing as they used to be. So many bad stories have come out of even the most well liked corpos that I think a lot of even lower tier indies would not even think about going into one these days. I think hololive is the only one left that hasnt had that magic dispelled yet, but they never hire anyone so it's kind of a moot point, they probably aren't even seriously looking for new girls any more.

I have no idea how you read that out of my post, but whatever works for you. Nobody /here/ even streams in my timeslot I could never be raided by any of them. But I do follow pretty much most people here and I watch them too. What I meant is that I prefer to talk to people directly instead of JUST following and hoping they see that as an incentive to raid. I dislike this hyperfixation on whether or not someone has pressed the funny button. I interact with people, I comment on their tweets, I talk to them in streams and I DM them occassionally to get to know them better and see if there's a mutual interest in doing content together.

Just like a post if you like it, follow someone if you like their stream or design or w/e, comment if you got something to say. It's not too complicated.
I know there's probably a decent amount of people here on the spectrum or with doomer outlooks, but social interactions don't need to be a PR game or thought-out plan, esp. at our level. Be genuine, nice, and enjoy connecting with others. And if you tend your own garden, the butterflies will come by themselves.

To be fair none of the inane things i read here in this thread ever even remotely applied to anything outside of it. I honestly doubt anyone acts or thinks like what people say they do.

Most of my interaction with /asp/ies were positive and I enjoy hanging out with a bunch of them. there has been 1 (one) instance of me getting in a little bit of an argument with a guy but we just went separate ways and that was that. it's almost as if people just make things up here because they are bored and hope to get a rise out of people.
