I think they do kind of have something new? How close they all seem and how much they interact. Everyday they are joking or shitposting with each other on twitter, promoting each other's stuff, in each other's chats when they are streaming. It's not been irregular for them to just join in on another members stream and start playing with them despite it not being a scheduled collab. They're always talking about each other etc. When they're in collabs they banter with each other, poke fun at each other, laugh at each other's fuck ups etc like actual friends would while gaming. I think the Takamori thing is just them playing out their lore but it's wearing thin so they're dialing it back. I don't think Mori is uncomfortable being death but I think she's beginning to see the limitations its placing on her content and is trying to move away from it a bit.

I think part of the issue is that the same 5 girls have played with each other enough that the dynamics are established and there isn't enough overlap in personality, timezone or tastes for collabs to happen frequently. Ame has taken to collabing with JP and ID to play Apex these days, and collabs outside Hololive were just opened up so we just saw Ina and Pikamee in addition to a planned collab with Kiara and Nyanners.

All that said, I think the biggest issue is that Hololive restrictions means everyone has to tiptoe a bit more than they probably should to be really comfortable. We know they have a laundry list of nono words and topics they can't discuss and it's hard to suggest that it doesn't cause people to hold back and holding back only prevents close relationships from forming.

They don't really bring anything new but they're nice to watch if you don't just want to watch old VODs and no one is streaming. I like Pomu in particular. I'm sort of worried EN2 will really hurt them but maybe they can secure a dedicated fanbase before that happens.

I watched them for about 2 weeks before I finally realized what the other anons meant when they said that Niji picked a relatively safe batch. If you remove the Nijisanji brand from them they would basically be just a bunch of vtubers like the other thousands streaming on youtube or twitch. If you remove the Hololive brand from HoloEn, Gura is still a million subscriber talent, Mori would still get hundreds of thousands to millions of views on her music and Ina would keep getting employed for her skill in drawing. Ame is a rock that Yagoo found that turned out to be a diamond. And despite not liking Kiara, well she's at least above average as a vtuber. Don't get me wrong though, NijiEn are a bunch of good vtubers, but if Anycolors aim was to have them open the floodgates of the overseas market, they're a failure in that regard. I think the best thing that Nijisanji can do is debut a 2nd batch asap with a male chuuba included. That's always been their main differentiator in the west and even if the guy isn't that talented, the hype of having a male hired by one of the top vtuber companies would get some eyeballs on them quick. Either that or hire a black girl for the 2nd wave to attract the twitterfags if they're really desperate.

lol, no. Mori's pretty alright but her roommate's music was never that popular and she's basically just coasting on the exposure the brand gives her.
