Yes, she was the most watched vtuber just a year ago and has made appearances on Japanese TV commercials and stuff. Kuzuha may have surpassed her, but he did by spamming a normie bait game over and over just like Pekora with Minecraft. Mito built her fame in a completely different way; by playing kusoge/niche otaku stuff/doing zatsudans, etc. Only Kenmochi is comparable to her, but he has much less subs overall.

Literally THIS! Mito was a phenomenon right after she debut. She was like the talk of the vtuber town. People think Luna was crazy enough with her antics but this girl pulled all stops and went full degenarate with her limited 2D model non less. But her degeneracy were not some peepeepo sex jokes, her humour was just next level surreal stuff and really entertaining.
If she wasnt on the 1st wave at the time instanty putting nijisanji on the map, nijisanji would be just another agency amongs many.

Since I will probably stop watching vtuber soon. I will be honest here. I mostly watched hololive but I did wanted to try out nijisanji and Mito was the first I watch since she is the “leader” and god damn this chick was scary as hell, scary as in how entertaining she can be not the scream like a little girl scary.
