What do you think would be a fun setting for chuuba fic?
We have the usual thread staples of, Tokyo 20 minutes into the future, Fantasy, and Highschool; but what other settings would be fun to have a fic be in?
I still think a cyberpunk setting would just be natural considering the whole 'virtual youtuber' part but it's just one of those things where there isn't really a good 'slot in' plot that naturally fits with the chuubas I like.

I do think the concept of 'road trip with a bunch of chuubas you like' would make a great SoL series, though it would by necessity have to be a series. You can't exactly do the whole 'journey not the destination' if you're just making a one-shot. Something like this kind of needs to have the journey be said in full, even if it's just the exciting bits.

A setting where the world is on the brink of ending due to supernatural creatures invading and killing humanity, kind of like A Quiet Place. Dark Medicine sort of fits the bill.
A story about two settings could be cool as well, as in two vastly different worlds collide and overlap. Like your standard medieval fantasy world merges with a world in the modern age and it becomes a battle of magic vs technology. Dragons getting shot down by anti-air missiles and whatnot.
I also remember one guy brought up a setting in the 1910s some time ago, where combat would be an interesting point of focus.

For me, when I get the feeling a scene isn't gonna work, I just have to keep thinking of the content from another angle. Since when I get that feeling, it's not the scene that's meant for the piece. That's vague as fuck, but it's proven true for me time and time again.
