From what I can gather the Hololive announcment was made only 23 days before the Production Kawaii announcement.
For Production Kawaii to have intentionally tried to snipe "first ever" from Hololive it means that in that 23 day span they would have needed to to scout locations, decide which one offered them the best pricing for their budget then of those which ones would be capable of accommodating the technological requirements for putting on this very niche kind of performance, acquire all of the relavent licenses and permissions for putting on their show (insurance, releases, etc) and lock in a final date with that venue - across not only international legal jurisdictions but also across a 16 hour timezone difference.
This all after having no plan in place prior to Hololives announcement for an Idol Project that has been in the works for over a year now.

If Kawaii could move that fast in organizing a live 3D concert, they fankly have a right to steal the title of first US vtuber concert.

Occam's razor is that both aimed for AX weekend since it is convenient for the weeb who are already traveling to LA for it. However, they are both jp vtuber company. Even when Hololive is huge and Kawaii is small, the ceo/managers and vtubers must have insider communication/knowledge of each other so Kawaii must also have insider knowledge of Hololive's concert date before the public and took measure to avoid the overlap. Kawaii is a holo refugee corpo after all, even the CEO.
