Decent is my rating. She managed to relearn the basics after first experience with 3H. She was willing to engage heh witht the corny writing, so I had fun with it.
Gameplay is in passable territory. Not quite grasped enough to display optimal tactics, but knew enough to reliably get her through fights.
Gave pact ring to Hortensia. Kiara is a huge sucker for character design and apparently she hit the spot. Not that I personally get it. If she had a second choice it might've been Veyle.

Compared to many other Kiara playthroughs this one was background noise tier, she did a lot of thinking and reacting and told fewer stories that had nothing to do with the game. Still enjoyable but how much you like a Kiara stream depends on what you want from a streamer.
Not all that good, too many mechanics and too much inventory management for her to wrap her head around. She also has no real order in how she uses her troops, often attacking with the units that are already at the frontline and then just letting the character's further behind just walk because all target they could have reached were taken out already. She didn't get too punished though and the final attack was hype.
Hortensia, she thinks she is super cute and her English VA is great.

She relied on chat to backseat her. Each chapter took 3ish hours for her to complete.
But She played on hard, and as far as I remember, completed each chapter first try. Managed to luckshit her way through the game, which was entertaining in its own right.
It was a fun play through, she had fun reactions to the dialog and characters. Tangents about random stuff. But was a slog to get through, and it dragged out, even for kfp.

It was servicable, a bit less invested than in 3 Houses because the story was pretty bad and since she upped the difficulty level for this game (Hard/Casual), she spent a lot of time thinking about her turns and conserving her units the best she could, which got into her way of usually just chitchatting about whatever. It was also way too long, especially with all the cancelled streams making it go on for a month longer than it should have.

Not her best showing, but still passable. She had difficulties with utilizing range and she didn't care for minmaxing her units. She dropped tanks and mainly frontlined with Alear, Panette and Mauvier. Main carries were Panette and Ivy because a lot of her other units were statscrewed. Canter on everyone for quick movement around the map.

Besides being long, it was a decent JRPG playthrough. There were a few spots where Kiara got a bit checked out, but as someone who enjoys her streams for the zatsu aspect it wasn't a big deal.

Kiara's biggest issue with Engage's gameplay was she just didn't seem to get the idea of forming walls to protect units or effectively baiting. When you can do an even push while protecting squishy units you can progress faster, even if technically it takes more turns to move everyone up.

Just finished latest Hotline Miami VOD and christ I didn't expect Kiara to finish all story chapters. Loved how hard she vibed to the music and got into the thrill of killing.
I guess what surprised me the most is there was little to no discouragement from failures and she just powered on through.

It's not failing that makes her stressed, it's losing progress. She was willing to try for hours on pre-nerf Margit underleveled because she started right next to him every time. Conversely to that, Metroid Prime's saving system had her scared out of her mind because dying meant redoing all those sequences once again. FE: Engage had a similar problem where she just refused to restart maps after two turns or so and insisted on trying with her suboptimal positions.
Hotline Miami is very good at letting you retry again and again. The only times she was hesitant is when she was almost finished with a floor but didn't want to redo it once again if she fucks up.

It doesnt seem like it'd be for me, especially if the 1.5 hour plus per chapter is correct. I finished almost all of the maps within 45 mins, with only the harder maps taking more than an hour. Props to her though for trying hard mode, especially since this seems to be her second FE game. As for choosing Hortensia for the pact ring, it oddly fits and I barely know anything about Kiara outside of clips of her and her roommate. She just seems like the type of gal who's likes Hortensia. (Admittedly I hated Hortensia initially but once you get past the design and dig into her supports, she's actually great. It helps that she might be the best staff user in the whole series).

It's definitely a long playthrough to go through and I don't think you miss much if you skip it. If you want to check out Kiara, it's probably the best to start with GTA5, which is often mentioned as her best playthrough and I also share that notion.

I'm actually not surprised she liked it so much, because despite the game being mainly pushed to her for the memes and on the surface seeming rather outside Kiara's usual superficial game tastes (which often leads to her preemptively dismissing many games she'd probably enjoy if she just got over herself and actually played them), it actually makes sense if you consider what she actually likes and dislikes in stream games:

It has simple to pick up controls, isn't bogged down in convoluted systems that'd require her to fink hard, it's gameplay loop is short but intense and addicting, so it doesn't feel like a chore and instead makes you want to push forward ("ok I'll do one more stage... and another one... and..").

And very important: it doesn't punish failure very hard. Kiara haaates losing progress and having to redo tedious shit (see for example Metroid Prime's annoying final boss sequence with no checkpoints). Whereas in HM, while dying happens often, it only sets you back to the floor, so you could be back where you were in just a few seconds. The goal (floor exit) is always in sight and always feels attainable, plus with each run you can have small victories like getting further than before so you always feel some improvement that keeps you motivated and makes you feel like you're getting closer to clearing and understand the enemies' patterns better.

Gave Lost Epic a quick try just to know what she's dealing with. Controls are surprisingly sharp, but game design feels dated in general. Game offers increasing area difficulty for more drops/loot, so the base difficulty seems pretty forgiving.

Also, that she "hates building" is kinda overblown. Yeah, she's not as autistically into it as some other people, but when she has to build something she still buckles down and does it. Plus the actual "building" part of TotK is still pretty negligible compared to say Minecraft (where that sentiment originally came from). At most it just asks you to stick a dozen or so gathered items together, and they even come with readymade glue-points so it's basically babby-mode and can be done in minutes. If you think about it, it's more like the minecraft crafting table where you just slot items in for auto-recipes, instead of the actual minecraft building where it can be more overwhelming having to place thousands of different blocks with no guidance to build your giant castle or whatever which can take hours.

Weapon switching/breaking can be annoying but you get over it when you stop thinking of weapons as set things you have to keep (and don't get too attached to particular pieces) and more like just another resource to spend and refill like magic etc.
Open world overwhelm / decision fatigue can be a thing, but the first game was already pretty good at laying out a sensible path for you to follow it subtly nudged you along. Sure you COULD wander off randomly on your own if that's the true open world experience you wanted. But if not, you are usually always shown what the next landmark or goal to work towards to is, and there's very few actual "so uuh... idk, wtf do I do now?"-moments. And there's always new shrines with puzzles to discover etc, and with how much she likes to just wander around in Minecraft and explore different Bio-me's, she'd probably enjoy some detours to sidequest or clear out random enemy camps or whatever, and go back on track for the main story when she wants to move forward again.

90% of the problem I have with Kiara's playing skill is just that, it's entierly self inflicted.

Yes, this is something I've noticed on her JRPG streams (and, to an extent, action games too) - fundamental game mechanics are ignored because she doesn't bother to learn them in depth.

I have a theory about this (and this might be a cope): to gather audience when you stream a game you have to, inexorably, fall into one of two categories:

A - being very good at the game or
B - an absolute shitter.

Anything in between is considered being mediocre (nothing more than you average player), and mediocre gamers aren't that interesting to watch.

Therefore, I assume that Kiara purposefully picks the second category when streaming games - she pretends to be shitty (or forces herself to) in order to gather clips, viewers and provide what she thinks is a fun stream for her audience. It's how she chose to play the numbers game that came with her job.
