It's more fun to run the stream like you're streaming in front of a bunch of friends. There's plenty of people who'd rather do whatever is going to be the most fun for you and your fans than feel a moral need to mentally check themselves every so often to make sure they're not out of line. And despite the memes or recency of Oshi no Ko, western fanatics are a lot more violent that Japanese ones, and even then the dedicated vtuber fanbase is less so than dedicated fans of other big groups like sports or pop/rap music.
