Unironically this. Fuck the CCP, but at least nijisanji tries to take care of their talent. The meiro fiasco only went on as long as it did because niji was soft. Niji hasn't abused their en talent either despite being practically owned by the CCP.

Cover on the other hand failed to warn their talent about Taiwan and then martyred Coco (but not the native japanese Haachama or literal coomer ollie) so that management wouldn't lose face. At this point it's not even about the chinks. There was severe institutional problems with the way cover was managed, problems which don't appear present in nijisanji. Chinks may have been the catalyst but cover was the cause.

Niji will likely come out of this looking much better as a result. They can trout their fair treatment of english speaking talent and the fact that their vtubers don't fuck on stream as good pr for the China-affiliated company. You can't argue for the most part with their professionalism and quality control. Thanks to cover's bumfuckery, the actual CCP honeypot looks like the Chad agency while the greedy nips over at cover made MUH JAPANESE COMPANY WITHOUT A CN BRANCH look like an absolute shitshow. It reflects poorly on both japan and everyone still in that company. And it's not even the chinks' fault. It's the nip management who decided to get in bed with and empower chinks within their company in the first place.

All cover had to do was not get involved with China and nijisanji would've likely been subverted until they self destructed. Instead, muh japanese company self destructed and propped up niji as the standard bearing global vtubing agency. Now en vtubers looking to stand on the global stage will likely join nijisanji and bow to China simply because cover is so pozzed that they'll throw you under the bus as a patzy just for not being japanese or wealthy.
