I don't think there was one attempt at hiring, I think GUNRUN failed multiple times, there were many orbiters that were considered concrete picks for the auditions something must have gone horribly wrong repeatedly during this process.

I think the contracts were horrendous because the company wanted to leech money in order to fund expansion into JP market, but they completely shat the bed with the whole process and offered contracts where the talents would be paying a cut of their earnings to the company so that the company could hire other people.

That would make no sense for an established streamer to sign, only a very low level indie.
