He's never going to get numbers from various audiences, dumbass.
People who get numbers are those who find their own niche and stick with it.

I don't have much of an opinion on Axel or Flayon but Shinri has become one of the best streamers in all of Hololive. Dude knows what he's about, stays in his lane, and puts in the work. He deserves to be way bigger than he is.

Shinri is one of the more hardworking, genuine and intelligent vtubers in holo if you knew him from his pl. He's also not a numberfag and sticks to what he likes even if it doesn't translate to the best of views.

I dont dislike Axel, but pandeering to the japanese is totally useless. If he wants to be with Vtubers, e-celebs from there as a weeb, is fine. However, why a japanese would watch you? They have lots of streamers to pick, they can consider him to be funny and subscribe, but they will never watch him at the end.

I think you're mostly right, but I don't think anyone can really blame him for trying. IMO, Tempus members are in a difficult position right now because there's absolutely nothing interesting happening on the EN vtubers side that could rival VSaikyou or Rust arcs, there are only a handful of indies they could collab with, NijiEN doesn't seem to be too keen to spam collabs with Tempus, only a few holo girls are willing to collab with them, and they're a group of just 8 guys who also don't all have the same taste in games. Collab with StarsJP? Pretty much no point because NA audience will not be able to watch most of those collabs, and any JP subscribers they gain won't watch their NA prime time streams.
NijiEN/Hololive can afford to have their own inner bubble, StarsJP (roberu, astel and gamma) used outside collabs to grow, but Tempus have nothing. I think that Axel is probably checking if streaming during Asian prime hours would be a viable choice for him, or he's simply having fun because the EN side is either dead or too individualistic for huge projects to work out. That's beside the point that all of them have debuted in an already overly saturated market without coof buff.

tempus is in a shitty position because they forced the idea of "brotubers" too hard but in the worst way. "brotubers" work if you can broadly appeal to a large audience that's mostly family friendly. that requires the boys to adapt to trends quickly because that's where "brotuber" viewers are since they're all just normies.

the problem is cover as a company has so many retarded restrictions that they can't utilize trends and games because of permissions autism. they're also not marketed at all. the people who follow the hololive accounts are there for the girls and don't care about the boys. instead of getting their own audience the boys are pushed to the existing audience who only watch girls exclusively.

the problem is that cover's vision is retardedly short sighted and they think any number higher than starsjp is a huge success. they could make it big but aren't given the time or chance to grow.

That's why I think a sane person would only join Holostars to interact and network with the Japanese. Cover has shown time and time again they're not interested in interacting with the West. They do like our money, however.
Who knows, maybe one day Cover will hire a good ol Southern military boy that'll love talking about how he wants to stream from one of the American military bases on Japan.
They'd fuckin love that.

>> No.48458794

>>48458465
as much as people give nijisanji shit for appealing to china they did a fantastic job of tapping into an audience that's not just japan. they knew that pushing out their boys to the west wouldn't work unless they changed something up. the something was target audience.

the problem now is that cover's already used up every audience out there. everyone who cares about watching vtubers already know about the boys and have decided they're not worth watching. but they're not making any moves that help the boys get new audiences.

a shota with skintight mech suit? some half ass bara guy with his bare chest out all the time? there aren't designs that appeal to a brotuber audience to begin with and they're nerfed content wise by being forced to avoid pandering.

>> No.48459065

>>48458794
If I were Cover I wouldn't put the next Stars under the Tempus banner. I'd make it a Vs. situation where they're rivals or something. That would create the distance to make it something that could stand on its own.
I think the Vtuber design situation can easily be solved by not trying to be hot. Not everything has to be attractive. We didn't watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because we wanted to tap turtle ass. We didn't watch Inspector Gadget because we wanted to Wowsers his trousers etc etc.
Half the appeal of isekai is being a normal person in a fantasy world and becoming a hero. They could do that.

Axel has been doing good recently. For most of this year he has been putting a lot of effort into networking on the JP side and branching out of Holo, which is something that the other Tempus members barely do.

Vsaikyou/TSB got him a lot of attention and he got acquainted with quite a few people on VCR Rust. I would say just give him time and he'll probably make a name for himself on the JP side.

NTA but I agree with you albeit for different reasons. Brotubers are definitely a thing (e.g. Kuzuha, Loliman). The issue is that they can only really work in the Japanese streaming scene since vtubers grew TOGETHER with Japanese streaming culture. They're pretty much the equivalent of xQc and Asmon over there and people becoming vtubers when deciding to stream is considered NORMAL. Here in the west, vtubers were introduced waayy late. By the time that vtubers caught on, streaming and it's culture were already established. If you wanted to be a streamer, you can basically grab a mic or an old webcam and start streaming. There's no need for an avatar to represent you on screen. So why would someone from the west with any sort of talent/skill/charisma even want to be a vtuber when the road to being a fleshstreamer has already been paved ahead of them? Honestly, the only reason why vtubing works in the west is because it evens the playing field between coom-focused female streamers and girls who may be more talented/charismatic/skilled but wouldn't have been given the time of day by anyone because of their looks. The perfect example would be Pan Piano. No offense to her, hell I'm fucking subscribed to her too, but her covers are just okay to good at best. It's the cosplay and sex appeal that draws people in. But I'm not under any delusion that she's some uber talented pianist.

I dunno, anon. I know the money is good but being gay for pay is not something I could imagine normal people could stomach for a lengthy period. Then again, people who even consider being vtubers aren't exactly right in the head
>>48459065
My naive past self would've been convinced that this would work, but not anymore. The brotuber dream is dead since Luxiem and Shoto pretty much set the culture for all male vtubers in the west moving forward, which is pretty much being fujo bait for the chink sisters
