As a neutral question no, but for typical Holo chuubas whose job is to be cute and friendly/close-feeling with the audience that just doesn't feel right when suddenly a random dude is there on-stream and suddenly the girl doesn't give two fucks about chat anymore and just laughs it up with the dude. In solo streams the girl tends to rely on chat to make things more lively and chat also benefits from her reading/responding to random comments in it for meandering conversations.

When it's two girls talking it's kind of that sitting around at the slumber party feel where they're just casually hanging out, the interacting with chat part is mostly gone but the bonus is seeing the girls interact with each other which usually is entertaining and/or cute. Seeing innocent friendships develop between the girls is also cute. However when it's guy/girl it's just different inherently because the guy just doesn't think/talk like girls so just inherently cannot multiply the cute factor, and a deepening friendship between a guy/girl on stream can be ambiguous to argue it doesn't at least -look- like people flirting eventually which is a totally different social dynamic. Perfectly fine, she only meets him once, he's there, they collab, it's professional.
Scenario 2:Korone collabs with some other vtuber on stream once. Ok, not so bad.
Scenario 3: Korone collabs with the same guy, again, and again, and has been collabing for multiple weeks that way, and he shows up at her streams uninvited.

Scenario 1 is perfectly fine, scenario 3 is unacceptable, so you know what I'm just going to say fuck scenario 2 too because I see no benefit to it and it just opens the door for scenario 3.

JP chuubas like Pekora, Miko, Subaru etc. are entertaining as hell, no matter who they are collabing with.

Unfortunately most people on this board are EOPs and only watch EN VTubers who only have the absolute basic levels of "cute girl" buff going for them.
Plus 90% of western women are absolute cancer so most burgers just end up using EN VTubers as virtual girlfriends or escorts, because outside of that role they are boring as all hell, and they can't justify watching them.

JP has these types of VTubers as well, boring girls who are worthless outside of being virtual girlfriends, but the established "otaku" culture means that JP fans can be pretty open about the expectations for such chuubas and openly dunk on them if they cross the line.

The EN scene simply does not have VTubers that are primarily focused on entertaining their audience.
And the audience expectations simply reflect that fact.

The truth is that any male collab that's good and professional always gets ignored if not praised no matter how much people bitch about it going in.

Every time it causes a shitstorm, the actual collab itself was terrible. There's a double standard in that horrible all girl collabs get forgiven, but male collabs aren't inherently bad at the end of the day.

The real problem is that mixed gender collabs in the English scene are almost always garbage in themselves and have set terrible precedence
