I get that everyone wants to bait "She doesn't care" posts and such but I honestly feel for her.
The stars aligned for her when she debuted with the pandemic + the vtubing boom, not to mention that she knows her way around the internet. She knew exactly what to do to get a following.
This is, it got out of hand. Remember that minecraft stream in which she sulked over reaching 1 million subs before Fubuki? I do. Gura probably wanted to act retarded on camera and get paid for it, sort of like a professional sensawa, now she's a walking plagiacci.

Gura is only in Hololive at this point to hang out with HoloJP and join special events. She absolutely despises the other parts of vtubing which is the streaming, playing video games, being entertaining, making songs and etc.
So all she does is do the bare minimum outside of special events as the money rolls in.

the answer is simple op, they hired someone who was known to stream infrequently and doesnt try that hard despite the advantages given to them by their natural charisma and luck.
