I'm not defending Mori as a GM since she's quite shit, but some of her railroading was more just pushing the girls to actually go and do something. How many times did Mori have to do the "I'm gonna prompt you if you'd like to do something in the situation instead of just passively letting things happen?" each session, which is part of why thrusting the girls into a complex and not straightforward setting for their first campaign was a terrible idea. A simple dungeon crawl helps to avoid this problem by having dedicated turns and combat where the game itself prompts the players, which in turn gets them more comfortable with taking actions and can then be built upon with out of combat stuff when they get back to town.
