Not mine but someone did a writeup of the Kronii situation.

First of all, when people ask "What did Kronii do?" there will always be a bunch of trolls eager to jump in with responses like "SHE COLLABED WITH MEN" "SHE SAID UNFORTUNATELY IDOL CULTURE IS A THING" and "SHE PROMISED TO STOP COLLABING WITH MEN AND THEN DIDN'T." These answers are all wrong and everyone who posts them is a faggot. It doesn't even matter why they post them. Some of them are trolls just trying to stir the shit. Some of them honestly think that's what happened because they didn't follow Kronii and just listened to whatever troll post or dramatuber vid told them. Some are actual Kronies trying to make the Kronies that left look like unreasonable schizos. Whatever the case, every single answer that is along those three lines is wrong and can be discarded immediately.

What actually happened with Kronii was a little more complicated. Basically she first attempted to understand where her fans were coming from, and then abruptly did an about face and sided with the people calling them incels. It was a betrayal of trust on the deepest level, and whether or not she meant it this way is irrelevant, the effect was the same.

Basically Kronii did not have a lot of things going for her as a streamer early on. She had the Wada model and a nice voice. But she wasn't great at zatsudan, she wasn't great at games, and she wasn't great at singing, she also did karaoke pretty rarely. Which is fine, part of the joy of the Hololive experience is watching your streamer develop over time. Thus people had to find something else to latch onto and they did so by becoming parasocial with her. This wasn't helped by her choosing to watch a lot of "Gosling" movies in member streams like The Truman Show, and of course Ryan Gosling himself in Blade Runner and La La Land.

The male collab thing was not well received by this portion of the fanbase and they made their discontent known through long and lengthy posts in her community, trying to explain themselves as best they could. Whether they were CGDCTfags or just plain unicorns, or people who didn't like the drama that male collabs inevitably bring, they spelled out their grievances, for the most part as composed as they could be. I'd say the only person that came off close to being a unicorn was Aliaga Ayin's post and even that wasn't that deranged. Some of these posts were from long time members, people Kronii would actually talk and react to in chat, Kronies refer to such people as being on the "spreadsheet' which is an alleged list of her "favorite" members. The most notorious of this would be Gabe who was mentally ill and attention seeking from Day 1, but even his post wasn't that crazy.

The point is during a special unarchived member stream, Kronii took the time to read these posts, out loud on stream, in an effort to better understand what these people were unhappy about. And for a brief moment, that won her a lot of love and respect. While Reddit and Twitter were calling these people unicorns and incels, she actually took the time to read them, addressed their concerns, and even defended them, saying she didn't want people attacking her fans. She stated clearly, that while she would NOT stop doing male collabs, she would not initiate them, probably not tweet to them that much, and she would not stream her POV to them. This satisfied all but the most die hard unicorns, and again, even Aliaga Ayin was pacified. The point is, the Kronies that felt this way felt HEARD. She didn't just dismiss them out of hand, like others were doing.

Then less than a day later, she did this tweet, disappeared for a week, and when she came back said she would collab with whoever, whenever, and that was the end of it. There was no further discussion and at the same time the Hololive account made that proclamation against harassing the talents.

So in the eyes of the Kronies who felt betrayed, she had gone from understanding them and defending them, to siding with the people who mocked them and disparaged them, while running and hiding behind the skirts of the company from the inevitable backlash she had to know would follow. Honestly it would have been better if she had never done that unarchived members stream. She gave them hope that she understood, if not fully agreeing with where they came from, and then dashed it violently. That's why they hate her so much. It's not as simple as "male collabs" or "unfortunately idol culture is a thing" it is a real long standing feeling of betrayal and loss from people who watched her for over a year and thought they had a deeper understanding of their oshi and she them.

Early Kronii established several things about her character and viewer expectations:

From her first membership stream on she placed a strong emphasis on honesty saying she would always try her best to be honest with us (within reasonable limits for her position in the company) and that she expected the same from us in return. She made it clear that she wanted to hear our honest opinions and feedback and that she didn't want to surround herself with yesmen. During her philosophy members stream she even said that she does not approve of white lies because of her bad experience with a compulsive liar in her family she said she would respect it more if people said "I don't want to talk about it" rather than make up a harmless lie.
>Promises
Related to that honesty Kronii also said that she wants to be someone who "underpromises and overdelivers". She wanted to be someone whose promises really held weight within her community
>Parasocial
This is a difficult topic for Kronii because she denies wanting her viewers to be parasocial towards her while also behaving in a way that is highly parasocial towards them. She often confides in chat about highly personal issues especially during members streams, she also puts in effort into remembering the names and stories of her longtime supporters, I think this is one of her best qualities as a streamer but I bring it up because it's at odds with her stance on parasocial relationships.
She also denies wanting to be a GFE streamer while her viewers see her as unintentional GFE with her rare scripted GFE segments being less gosling material than her average stream
All of this has caused the Kronies to be the most gachikoi fanbase in HoloEN, Kronii hates this fact but is also deeply aware of it and keeps behaving in ways that encourage it
>Collabs
Kronii always struggled with maintaining ongoing collabs outside of her Minecraft addict phase. Most games she plays with her genmates end up being abandoned after one stream or in cases like the recent Dying Light collab with Fauna the streams end up several months apart. While this was always an issue for her it was easily forgivable because the girls had busy schedules and the timing for follow up streams didn't line up
>Kronies
Her fans had a reputation for being weird which was a result of them being unusually gachikoi for an EN fanbase but Kronii used to protect them in front of others and often showed affection towards her fanbase as a group. She always insulted them as well but only as a means of playful teasing and never in earnest, it was just part of her chat dynamic.

Now all of the above describes her character for her early time as Kronii and I think she played the part VERY WELL I was a big fan of hers for a long time and I really fell in love with her personality to the point where I didn't care about her coombait model or art anymore. Many Kronies were in the same boat and all of the above is important for understanding why her former fans flipped on her so hard.

This is the point in time where Tempus happened. Kronii did a collab with them and her gachikoi fans didn't like it but at this point the damage to her character was much smaller than you'd expect, the only ones that really threw a fit were the most schizo of unicorns. Everyone else just voiced their opinion that they didn't like the male interaction (remember Kronii encouraging such honest feedback). So Kronii went on a members stream and she did her best to appease her viewers, she promised no more twitter interactions with Tempus, collabs being rare going forward and so on. She said all the right things and the drama could have died down then and there
But then less than an hour later she went to Twitter and laughed at Vespers silly underwear tweet. Then did a solo collab with him and not only was it any collab but also a therapy session stream, an idea she floated around for a long time for members exclusive content. Then she introduced several new mods to her stream to filter out any dissenting voices. Then she continued to do group collabs with Tempus on a more regular schedule than with ANY of her genmates. Then she went on her roommate's twitter to vent about not giving in the to the haters when the context made it clear she wasn't talking about haters but about her biggest fans that hated her favoring male streamers over them
She made it abundantly clear that if she had to choose between Kronies or Tempus she would pick Tempus without hesitation.
She doubled down on everything her kronies disliked and since then drastically changed her attitude towards them

I lost interest during the "1-hour MC stream" arc. She led her fans on early with a "Bond Level" system, so she basically started out as a dating sim heroine chuba. IMO the real reason it feels so bad from her is because the formative part of Kronii pre-tempus was yuri ships with her, and the fact that for whatever reason her general is (rather was) packed to the brim with yuri fanfics etc. She didn't contradict that and from the genderfluid statement constantly passed around to kingdom come back then, people were like >50% sure she was hardcore dyke and thus wouldn't ever wanna talk to Tempus. Well that was all wrong, which led to them getting mad at realizing they didn't actually understand her like they thought they did, that what they preached to each other was gospel was really just headcanon. I remember when everyone unironically thought Kronii was going to be the next Gura. She would only catch flak for her laziness (reasonable) and questionable roommate info but otherwise she had a fairly decent reputation.
But that's all old history now. I wonder if she knows that people had great expectations for her and if that influenced what later happened.
When you consider the events it seems this was building up in the background for a long time and then she snapped. Especially when you consider the famous "unfortunately, idol culture is a thing" phrase. That was no misstep on her part, those were her true feelings.
If she were direct and honest with her viewers with her feelings and intentions none of this would happen. Naturally some would be upset but the situation wouldn't have escalated as it did. Poor communication is what did her in the end.

I'm not one of her fans but I have tried to understand this as well.
I think for starters the fact that her appeal was 100% GFE was a contributing factor.
Mori is a successful artist with a bro vibe, all vtubers are GFE but she offers more than just GFE so her fanbase has more types of people.
Ame is la creatividad so she also attracts a lot of people who enjoy her tech skills and creative content.
Kronii sort of has nothing besides GFE.
No skill, no accomplishment, no content niche, she's not particularly funny or witty or interesting.
All she has is a sex model and a voice that goes well with it.
She built her audience with GFE teasing early on.
Her merch is heavily GFE.
So with most of her audience being there because of their attraction to her of course there will be more outcry against bonding with males on stream.

On to the second point, chemistry.
Kronii never had particularly good chemistry with any of the girls, she wasn't a constant collaber. It was fine, everyone accepted her as more of an introvert.
Then along comes Vesper and she acts like a schoolgirl with a crush for him, they interact really well and she can't stop coming back to him for more.
Male interactions are not all inherently negative to a GFE, most of the HoloJP girls have interacted with guys at some point with 0 backlash.
The nature of the male interactions affects the reactions of the fans a lot, a formal one off interaction isn't the same as a consistent close bond on stream.

Third point, she flip flopped.
She showed understanding for her fans and expressed her desire to compromise for them, only to then turn a 180 in a very insulting way.
That shit hurt their feelings, people don't like feeling betrayed and on an ethical level even non fans took a stance against her behavior. It's worse than just being consistently antagonized because it comes from someone people trusted and were vulnerable to. As a content creator trust is very important and she basically lost it.

Fourth, she attacked Hololive's soul.
She got the EN Holopro account to basically stand out there to attack anyone that was criticizing her and straight up attacked the culture Hololive is built on. It's the unwritten rule, the thing that is there, always, but not necessarily by name. Hololive is a girl company, the girls don't interact with guys too much, they are separate.
There are some deviations on limited capacity but the norm is there to be respected. That's the status quo, that is Hololive. But thanks to Kronii the EN PR account game people the impression that actually Hololive is just Nijisanji, they should all collab with guys nonstop, go ahead, do it. And now we get more homobeggars than ever.
She's responsible for that.


I think a combination of those 4 factors accounts for the majority of the negative opinion about Kronii after her male collabs and why it is much greater than what Ame and Mori received.

You guys should stop timelooping and get other bitches to be angry at, or whatever. There are thousands of vtubers. You know what really sucks for them? Being forgotten. That's what should happen to her and others who hurt their fans. I never watched her streams or even clips, but if real people were hurt - yeah, forget about her.
