from what I've seen with these kinds of servers is that usually if you have an acceptable amount of followers and you actually know someone within it, you'll be fine. Even on the western end I've seen streamers with like 1k subs get onto the same minecraft server with million sub channels because they were close enough to someone else that was in it. Roberu knew enough people and has near 300k subs, so either way he meets the criteria.

I don't really get that vibe from him, he doesn't really do that much JP content nor does he interact that much with JP people. He just played in Vsaikyo and he barely played with people outside of his full EN team, he did one ranked collab with Towa and Pakael and he played with Leo from Neoporte with both of them speaking in English. If there was an EN equivalent of the Rust server he'd probably be interested in that as well but sadly the EN scene is a fucking wasteland.

The biggest non Holo/Niji EN vtubers are random indies and Vshojo girls who are more plugged into the normalfag Twitch fleshtuber scene than anything that could pass for an EN Vtuber scene, and everything else is either isolated islands (basically corpos that mostly stick with their own) or too tiny to do anything interesting.

There's a few/lig/gers like Vienna that technically fit the label. I do admit that most indies tend to hover around 1k on Twitch too. Phase Connect is probably the only YouTube-based "circle" that has member or two that have comparable size. the issue is that stars(probably because of management) cares more about getting numbers than thinking about who would be fun to collab with(that management would approve), since Tempus already started on the upper end of the western vtuber scene, they already lost out on any option that would've given them numbers, so there's nobody left. StarsJP had the benefit of starting at the bottom, so the only direction they really could go from collabing was up, so they got to collab with whoever. Tempus doesn't have that, so if they wanted to collab, they just have to throw out the notion that they should only collab if it will benefit them
