A lot of fags are going to reduce it to "improve yourself" or the homocollabs but it's a bit deeper than that. It wasn't even the Tempus collabs themselves so much as the dismissive, passive-aggressive attitude towards the longtime fans who disliked them. I have been improving myself. In the time period that Ame was my oshi I graduated college, got my first real job, and lost 30 pounds. She wasn't really encouraging me or anyone else to improve ourselves, she was just being dismissive. And that's how it started to become clear how much of a bitch she was.

Dropped Ame around this time last year. I was just bored watching her streams and the inconsistency and "potato" days became annoying. I pretty much dropped EN in general, really; the last EN stream I can remember watching was the Myth outfit swap April fool's day collab. I dropped Kronii like two months into debut because she never streamed. I imagine I would have gotten filtered by a bunch of other shit long before the Tempus incident. All I know is that when Kronii had her whole thing going on, I thought, “Cool, as long as you know what you’re doing and can anticipate the ccv hit.” That’s just how little I knew what her content was like by that point.
I tried watching some streams after the Tempus incident, they were shit. The Tempus collabs are unironically the best content she’s made lately, which is really bad on her part.

I’ve seen enough threads discussing this phenomenon, and I’ve experienced it myself, that this is my rrat:
A lot of people were overlooking the fact that HoloEN’s content was getting kind of stale, and they weren’t intending to drop their oshi even if they did collab with Tempus. Then, when the shitshow started, even people who didn’t plan to drop their oshi over this got tired of the drama, took a second look, and realized they weren’t actually enjoying streams lately and just doing what they normally did because it was routine.
Inertia’s a real bitch, you know. And the holobox was good at maintaining inertia and making people stay even if things weren’t so fresh anymore. But one of the reasons for the holobox’s appeal in EN *was* that it wasn’t the kind of Niji/vshojo/twitch bullshit that EN vtubing has to settle for. That going out the door is l the perfect sort of disruption that would make audiences ask themselves why they’re watching HoloEN and reevaluate their content choices.

TLDR: I think HoloEN’s in this weird middle position that’s not good for them. The holobox unity got broken just enough to make lots of people leave, and the Tempus collabs are frequent just enough to annoy those people (I really don’t think that would be the case if everybody streamed more, but we all know that’s not going to change). But they’re not common enough (and they don’t involve males who aren’t Tempus) to interest the normalfags who watch Nijisanji or vshojo or twitch indies (also, most of those people are on twitch anyway).
Ironically, trying to claim Tempus is in the holobox just shat up the whole box.

Amelia.
Its wasnt "improve yourself" or homo collabs. Its just hard to watch someone lose their passion and to be unable to find it for almost a year and a half at this point. Around July/August 2021 she had a shift in her attitude about streaming that ended in a small break. After that she never had her heart in it outside of a few moments here and there but it never got better it just kept getting worse. Shes under the kind of burnout you don't just get over. I waited to see how things panned out after holofes for a few weeks and I think I just figured its time to move on.

tldr: amelia, hard to watch a girl who struggles to do what she does due to burnout/depression

I only watch for fun, no simping or cooming, so I used to watch Kiara for a year after she debuted, but her loud eating, voice and whining over dumb stuff filtered me in the end, it was becoming more and more unbearable over time. She's fine otherwise, funny actually, but those small things just made the whole thing annoying and tbqh I got bored with her after a year. Couldn't care less for the rest of EN1, they're even more boring than most girls I know IRL. Tried watching 1 stream from irys and EN2, but they're even worse. Fauna, Mumei are doing the "uwu I'm such an innocent cute girl Uwu" shit which I dislike so I didn't bother watching for over 1 stream. Irys is even worse since she does that, but adds the "haha I'm so innocent [insert sexual innuendo] xd but also I'm so innocent that I dunno what I'm talking about uwu" shit. I felt like a subhuman watching them, just watching that stuff felt demeaning and cringe. Bae is fine, but she's outside of my timezone so I never got into her. That left me with IDs. IDs seem fine, at least I like Zeta and Kobo, but honestly I was tired of women streamers, they're not that interesting and Kobo speaks mostly indo so pass. Watched a regular autistic twitch streamer for a year. Then tempus came along, I checked them out and started watching them, they're pretty fun, so I settled on Tempus (mostly Axel) and that one regular streamer that I was watching for a year for now.

She was my gateway to vtubing, the extended breaks didn't help and in her latest Baldi's Basics stream it finally dawned on me that her heart just isn't in it anymore and she's just going through the motions because of contractual obligations, her "character" seems overly phony now too.

Exactly, men and women are different and appeal to different audiences. Girls have it easier because dudes wanna fuck them so the generic cutesy design works in their favor, dudes don't have that luxury and thus need something else to stand out.
Just because you're a bisexual gray blob doesn't mean the majority of people are. Giving them generic yaoi designs is kneecapping them from the very start because it pigeonholes them in people's minds.

As for Korone's "male collabs". Those are completely fine to me. I kinda saw it like Fubuki interviewing Jared Leto lmao, I don't count that as a "collab". I have my own personal set of boundaries.

>Interviews with males
>Interactions with male staff (Directors, etc)
>Clearly professional settings like a studio
>Being part of a big promotional event with males
These are ok to me.
>Song cover with males
>Interactions through Twitter
>Appearing in chats
>Too many mentions
Those are red flags but not worth dropping, yet.
>Collabs with male streamers, ecelebs, vtubers
>Guerilla collabs
>Karaoke with a male
Those are bad, and worth a drop.
>off collab with males

I'm not bisexual. I'm a straight woman, and I've watched female vtubers for a while. What I enjoy about Tempus is that they don't lean into bfe. I never understood the desire to fuck a vtuber when they're just an entertainer. They probably are dating people. The design is the cherry on top, and most guys in Shonen anime have these types of appearances. It really doesn't matter. Their personality is why you should stay.

For me the worse part is the obvious change in behavior from the girls once they get involved with guys on stream. I know a lot of faggots here go
>omg this incel thinks streaming together means sex!!!
No nigga. But they do change their behavior and sometimes it bleeds out into their solo streams and more. Both Ame and Kronii haven't been the same since their collabs with Tempus started. Both did nothing for Valentines, for starters.

I think this is also a reason for Bae never being brought up in these conversations while Ame and Kronii are prevalent. Bae kept her content and behavior towards her fans even after collabing with Tempus, doing reactions for Stars concert, etc.

Bae does a collab with a guy where she just talks normally and then does a gfe asmr stream for her fans. Ame and Kronii did streams thirsting and behaving like scho girls for the guys and then stopped any sort of affection towards their fans and decided to go all in against "parasocial" behavior.

If you actually are a biological woman and not just a tranny who took his larping too far that in and of itself is a diagnostic of the problem. You are a small small small minority of the audience, effectively a fujo. Giving them designs that appeal to the fujo audience locks them out from the wider audience.
>most guys in Shonen anime have these types of appearances
Nonsense, dudes like Goku or Luffy or Naruto or the kid from Hero Academia mostly just make goofy exagerated cartoony faces. The porcelain-mask barely-emoting faces are a yaoi thing and again, tiny portion of the audience.

Most of my irl friends are guys so it feels homey to me. And as for the bit about men watching women and vice versa, you're right, I think straight people will gravitate to the opposite sex naturally. This plus UMG. It's like she suddenly started double dipping constantly, it just got too demanding to stay a "true" fan. It's great that she challenges herself and want to try having a foot in as many ventures as possible, but somehow she doesn't seem to realize, or maybe doesn't even care, that it also means she's asking for even more from her fans. I still sometimes feel bad for dropping, but hearing a clip of her pity baiting and unironically threatening you for not blindly buying her merch because she apparently had her first taste of greedy numberfag higher ups getting on her ass just confirms to me I made the right choice.

I used to love her because she had this homemade vibe and she seemed among the few to truly understand just how impossibly lucky she was, but it's almost insane how quickly she shot past that and started living the high life. I suppose she was just investing what she got; she's good at living in the moment and looking forward, but the byproduct was her starting to take it for granted, as if she's already forgotten where she was just a little while ago.
>deadbeat, if you truly loved me you'd buy my blueray, or you aren't getting any more music

I see that most of you don't actually have oshi, you are just fans. Oshi is about being really supportive for person/character/actress you like, not just subbing channel, watch it sometimes and send random supas. It's about being active in community/social media of person you like, supporting her with fan creations, sending feedbacks(not just supas) etc etc. Being on top of news about that person.

Also almost none of English speaking vtubers, especially holoEN can't be oshi as they are not even worth calling "internet idols/gamers/singers" they don't even treat streaming as a job but hobby. Hard to be fan of someone that don't do proper job at things it advertise...

Just look at most of japanese vtubers that drag them self over crappy schedule, deal with cancerous management and licensing, play games or sing even if they barely can do that or hate it just to provide entertaining for their fans. This is worth supporting compared to eg. HoloEN that act like spoiled brats: my tummy hurts I need more space for my feelings. I Don't play that types of games as I preffer to play them alone...
Don't forget that they get paid for that. If I was owner of company and my employee that work frome home and play games said that he need some time and space I would kick her as I have 10000 people that do their work if they don't "feel it"
Yeah some JP do the same but it's like 1/10 and mostly where probably hired due to personal connections and no one bother to get rid of them.

Male collabs are cringe but I was just going to not watch them because Ame had always been a saviorfag so I didn't think much of it, but then she felt the need to be a cunt about it with organizing them and doing love song duets
Especially since she placated goslings for a good two years up until then
It all felt far more like spite than just being welcoming, and with the 2nd Tempus gen and how she hasn't paid them much of any attention outside of debut it just gives credence to it

Unlike the other anon that just had a meltdown, I can give you a more measured take.
Rosemi did indeed have a period where her out put was getting very samey and uninspired last year, and there were times that she admitted that she had ambitions elsewhere, like her talking about how she wants to go back to university. But this year she hae legitimately picked back up, with some of the kind of creative streams and cute animations that people enjoyed back when she started. Whatever was bogging her down last year seems to be passing.

That’s not what that anon said at all. I assume most anons are at least a bit autistic, and what that anon said is fairly sensible if you account for it.
The only real criticism I’d give to >>47750300’s post is that it appears to be more of a chicken and egg thing that something that we can squarely put the blame on the vtuber for. EN audiences are also quite fickle—so many of them are tourists and EN streaming culture is so based around “show your opinion with your view, not your words” that of course vtubers don’t feel very attached to their audiences. It’s a vicious cycle.
But either way, dropping a vtuber because she’s “not your personal geisha” is perfectly fine. Still watching them and then bitching about it /here/ is cringe, though.

that was basically what I was leaning to somewhat with her break in 2021 giving her time to think shit over back then and realizing she doesn't actually enjoy streaming enough as something she wants to do for the long term. She mulled over getting the rest of her goals done this year that she set on debut so shes rather directionless now, hopefully she figures her things out and does what she wants because I enjoyed a good amount of it before finally choosing to move on after this month.

For the longest time, I don't think I ever had a singular oshi; I don't know for sure if I still do, but I do have a list that I did my best to watch streams for. Earliest I can think of are Ina, Calli, and Ame.

>Ina
I still like to see her now and then, but her sporadic schedule made me tune out my dedication.
>Calli
Similar to Ina, I still like Calli, but her constant peak Japan hours streams clashing with my new job made it difficult to stick with her regularly. I do manage to check in once a week or so, though.
>Ame
I think my consistency with Amelia dipped after the first year or so, though I really couldn't say why; could've been because that's why I started working so there was just a coincidence, but even with my schedule dialed back, I still don't jump at the chance to watch her. More recently, it sounds like she's lost a lot of her energy, I assume because it sounds like she seems to do a significant amount of the background work for Myth (if not all of HoloEN); like, shit management should be doing.

If I have a singular oshi now, it'd be Risu; I like her weird sense of humor and the juxtaposition between gremlin squirrel and angelic singing voice. She has a similar problem with Calli in that she usually streams during primary Indonesian hours, so I can't watch her live as much as I'd like, but I regularly listen to her music and will check in on VODs.

For those I can actually watch/listen to live, Nina Kosaka is my most consistent; I've also been dabbling in the E-Sekai girls to see who I align with the most (currently Pochi, Fuyo, and possibly Juna).

It’s pretty funny how you’ve basically summed up most of the actual reasons HoloEN is reclining that don’t have to invoke Tempus. HoloEN peaked at debut and slowly stagnated (with the process really starting a bit before Council’s debut). Tempus certainly didn’t help, but I wager the vast majority of people are angrier about them being treated as a substitute for an EN3 that the branch badly needs than the fact that they’re male themselves.

Yeah, I don't really mind Tempus. They exist, they have fans of their own, and that's fine. I'm also not in the camp of hating the collabs. But they were definitely marketed wrong; I assume because HoloEN management wanted to get in on the Luxiem boom and figured part of their appeal was that Nijisanji has regular cross-gender interaction, so they kinda nudged Tempus into Hololive English itself instead of making HoloStars English a more distinct entity.

Though I have no hate for Tempus, I do understand some anons' issues with them, largely in that EN management mishandled their direct inclusion, like you pointed out.

But when it comes to HoloEN and me, it's really just that they (particularly Myth) seem to be either much lower in energy than they were in the first year or just poor/inconsistent stream scheduling; the former being demoralizing and the latter being frustrating.

I don't have a former oshi because I wasn't that invested, but my "dropping ride" is something like:

Started with HoloMyth, it was all magic and rainbows until HoloEN new years 2021, which feels like it was a soft-disband ever since, I drop them early 2022 and pity the retards who stick to them after the shitshow that's HoloMyth 2023.

Council: Never cared about them much but I freaking loved Kronii... until after unlocking monetization she started taking way too many many breaks, avoiding Minecraft, debuffing herself and being a bitch in general, I dropped her before Tempiss and time proved it was the right choice.
Btw I fucking hate Sana because this bitch gave HoloEN the lead that they could get away with gigantic breaks and not streaming.

NijiEN: I kinda liked to watch them when HoloEN didn't stream, I didn't care about Luxiem since it wasn't their fault management pick that direction, the first burnout was the Covid Fungus discord shit talk, then the China pandering and dramas, then Iluna and all their Twitter gayshit and debut shitshow, then Finana's education, xsoleil was the point of exhaustion were there were too many but still liked Zaion and Kotoka... Then Enna Kyo cucking, the retarded Millie 4chan stream, then Zaion bullshit termination and subsequent back stabbing. And dropped Kotoka for shitting on Zaion.
Now fucking despise NijiEN with the exception of Rosemi.

Now I mostly watch JPs

I'm not big on any Myth girls but I'd say the lack of passion has a lot more to do with it than a lack of interesting qualities. Even Ina, who's always been accused of being the most boring in Myth, had her drawing streams. Every Myth member has had strong periods where they gave a shit, made streams with some effort behind them and streamed consistently, and if they'd all kept that up consistently they'd be the five most popular EN vtubers today. Their starting advantage was incredible.
