I applied and got rejected about two weeks after auditions ended. Instead of only focusing on who graduated recently you should expand your scope to those that graduated anywhere from February until now. Many VTubers could have graduated as soon as they got the confirmation.

Jap corpos have a hard ceiling in the western market, both for current vtuber fans and prospective ones.
It's pretty clear when Hololive and Nijisanji tightly stuck to their niches while debuting EN, focusing much more on binding them to JP culture than having them develop their own homegrown culture that could actually appeal to westerners on a wider scale.
It's very telling to see so many Niji/HoloEN fans not even being from a western country.

The board may not like it, but I feel that the true victor of a potential EN-speaking market must ultimately come from the West.
In this regard, I think indies/Vshojo have an advantage over western small corpos, who still feel somewhat pigeonholed into following Hololive's formula, with the exception of Pippa.
It remains to be seen if a company like Idol can modify their current holoENclone format that's become increasingly niche,
into a winning formula that's able to capture a broader western crowd indifferent to "traditional" vtubers.

It’s funny how I always thought of HoloEN and DEFINITELY NijiEN as being watered down imitations of JP. But you might have a point in that they don’t feel quite appealing enough to people who want the real thing, but also too JP-lite for people who don’t give a fuck and would have started watching JP before already if they did.
Although desu, new countries trying to make shitty imitations of weeb shit and being cringe at it is historically the first stage of becoming properly weeb, so Twitch indies who pander to normalfags feels like the first stage to there being a larger market for more “authentic” vtubers in EN. Not that I think JP corpos will capitalize on that due to their autism.
If there is any corpo that currently exists that can break through, I’d say it’s Idol. Mostly because they seem to learn from their mistakes and they’ve got venture capital money.

Personally I would much rather join Production Kawaii but idol-EN is quite interesting as well so I'll keep applying for both of those while I continue to enjoy my time as an indie.

A broader western EN-speaking market for vtubers does not exist. Vtubing, regardless of language or origin, is simply a niche in a much bigger sea of live entertainment. Idol is not competing against just Hololive clones, its competing against streamers and other live content. All live content is competing with other live content. Kawaii is nice but you have to be willing to stick with it. The other members aren’t too pleased with 3 members breaking contract and 4 just quitting. Including the timezone differences between western countries and Japan kawaii seems to be the most hardworking sans hololive. If money’s your goal kawaii is probably the safest pick but you’d probably have to reach out yourself there will probably be no auditions anytime soon. I would say try hololive but they are almost definitely not doing en3 till next year. Prism/phase either just started or just finished auditions. Culture is not the issue, its time. There is not enough time to watch all the live content at any given moment on the planet so people prioritize based on availability and preference. The latter is key and I remain unconvinced that the amount of people who would prioritize watching avatars on a live stream coming from the west, because that market has so fucking many live offerings at any given time, hell its 1am EST or 5am GMT and there are big name EN streams on. Whatever they can put out as creators is a fucking pittance compared to the overall market so if they ever make to wider mainstream appeal it must be incredibly trend-setting content - a tall order.
