This is something that's actually made me feel bad the past couple days. Since the collabs started appearing on the horizon I've popped into threads related to Kiara and Calli to see if there's any excitement from the people in those threads towards the collabs. And for the most part there has been some level of enthusiasm in those threads. And then I look at the rest of the thread + board and just see fans of each of the HL girls eating one another alive. It's like there's almost no sense of community between them, at least here on /vt/. That's why I like this thread so much, really. Don't get me wrong, I like the differences between HL and VShojo and both create unique experiences. If you don't like either's content, don't watch, it's that simple. I know Veibae became a bit of a lightning rod for those differences because she criticized Cover for things that VShojo doesn't do, and joined VShojo partially for those reasons. Veibae then was assailed by HL fans for those comments recently and it sparked a lot of tribalism on both sides.

Go look at his channel. He used to make a lot more original content, but these days he's doing a lot of react videos and interactions with other streamers. Considering he's got almost 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a large exposure following, his interacting with other streamers is hardly "leeching". If anything he brings exposure to other streamers.

Like, I had heard of Projekt Melody after she debuted and the seething of the live action cam girls, but after that I wasn't aware of vtubers beyond Kizuna Ai. Then Nux did a thing with Melody and I thought she was just the most adorable and hilarious thing, and then he did something with Mousey which was my first exposure to her. The long and short of it is that Zen's mother has always had health problems, and cursed her existence, and as a result, took it out on Zen, so Zen suffered a lot of physical and emotional abuse growing up.
