Nope. Planetside never goes well for any streamer that isn't already deeply embedded in the community. Other than the game still have completely garbage performance (stuttering completely unrelated to FPS), it has a very UNIQUE style of gunplay that is exploited by the several-thousand-hour-playtime vets that populate the game.

That caribou vtuber did it a little while back, but the best example is Angry Joe bringing his entire community in and then getting more or less spawn camped for the entirety of his event.

I feel fucking sick, Coco was not my oshi and i didn't even watch her that much but she was one of the reasons i really got into Hololive, before her i watched clips here and there but not really any streams and then Asacoco happened perfectly when i had to get to work so it was my morning show. Of course thanks to that i ended up knowing Ame and having so much fun so i always had a spacial place in my heart for Coco so now this... this fucking hurts. I memed about dreading Ame on meme review but i hope she does it now.

Man this is truly a heart wrenching moment, even if she wasn't your oshi you really can't deny that she is a huge reason for why we have our EN girls. Seeing this I felt bad for the people that loved Coco as their oshi and are probably breaking down harder, even with the knowledge this was coming since she talked about it in a members only stream it seems, now that they are seeing it as a public official announcement. I think alot of us truly had a wakeup call for Ame now and how this eventually will be something we have to deal with one day and I think that's what made me consider how they must truly be feeling right now.

This almost makes me want to keep a bit more distance but still cherish Ame even more because I'm not sure I have the strength to not break down if the shoe were on the other foot. I really hope when Ame comes back tomorrow we can all be positive and resist bringing this up because I'm sure Ame and all of the EN girls are having a rough time with this.

These past several days have been confusing for my emotions.
There was ame's fantastic charity stream, which made me the happiest I'd been in awhile. Then the next day my computer broke for seemingly no reason. I also cleared up some important stuff and landed a job. Now coco is retiring. Hopefully the next few ame streams will cheer me up again, I'm excited for the kung fu hustle watchalong.

And how would they protect them? They already modded Coco's chat and channel. Theyve said multiple times that Cover would allow talents to take breaks if they didn't feel good for streaming, it's one of the main reasons some of the girls chose them over Anycolor/Ichikara. The next step would be 24/7 surveillance on Coco and hiring bodyguards which we know is impossible for a company of Cover's size.

I'll echo my sentiments from the global thread here:
I completely agree with Ame's last tweet. She put it eloquently— we do honestly have limited time with these people, and I can imagine the shelf life of a vtuber is a lot shorter than most streamers especially since they're not doing it completely on their own and they have a company to report back to. With that in mind, it's important to appreciate every second we have with our oshis, with Ame, with every vtuber we follow, so we can enjoy the entertainment and affection they give us in the moment. And when the road ends, we can look back and appreciate all that instead of wailing that it's too soon.

I really hope Ame will be okay during the collab tomorrow.

I take solace in knowing that at least Coco isn't truly dead. The character may be retired, but the core of her being will still be around doing other things, and her fans can continue to support them. Hopefully, if and when every other Vtuber graduates and moves on to other projects, their fans will follow them.

This more or less justified me in my effort to completely restructure my work/freetime balance so I don't miss any of Ame's streams live even if they're at terrible times for me and I will keep it up as long as I can. Basically early on in her first week Ame really hyped up the "date" aspect of her personality. There was a little bit of gosling in her very first game stream, but it was really her superliminal streams that made it take off. That entire game felt like walking through a museum and had nice soft music playing the entire time while Ame dialed up the date aspect to 11. I mean seriously there was even a part of the game where you walk through a star gazing room and she sat there talking about how pretty they were for a bit.
That stream made the goslings go absolutely over drive and they became obsessed. Seriously threads were reaching image limit in like 300 posts because of how much people were spamming gosling images and the threads would reach bump limit in like an hour.
But the real kicker is that on her second marshmallow stream a /hlgg/ anon got a question through that she answered on stream that was "What is your favorite Ryan Gosling movie"
So long and short of it, her first game she played had major date vibes which she also played into and then she went and essentially acknowledged the existence of the gosling posters by answering what her favorite gosling movie was in a marshmallow stream.

It's a difficult question to answer, especially if, for example, she decided to go indie once more. No other medium is like this where the person you're invested in crosses the lines between a character and an actual person steaming on the internet. Any other regular streamer could leave and come back, rebrand their channel, but it's still going to be them. While I feel no matter how you sugar coat it, Vtubers are not quite like that. They are obviously normal people under the makeup, but the character and design IS part of their personality and is also an attraction in its own right.

While it would still be the same person underneath, she would no longer hold the same name, she wouldn't appear the same and she wouldn't play off the same lore and detective/time travelling gimmicks as she did as Ame. I would be surprised to hear anyone say that doesn't drastically change things. I'd certainly give her a shot though.

I couldn't say for sure. I've never really regularly followed a streamer as closely as I have Ame. Even when I got into other streamers, I'd rarely watch full streams and would mainly stick to highlights and other content. Watson is the first content creator of any type that I've given money to and I think a large part of what appeals to me about her is due to the perfect distance that vtubing puts between the streamer and me. From what little I've seen of her roommate, it's clear that she's the same person then that she is now, but it's still hard to definitively say that, if her roommate started streaming again, I'd be as charmed by her as I am by Ame. I'd try to keep up with her if she did graduate, but it's not that unlikely that I'd be less interested in her.

I'm surprised at how much the announcement has shaken me. I didn't even watch the dragon that much, and it feels like I've been punched in the head. It also doesn't help that I have a midterm in a few hours. Fuck China.
