Many people underestimate just how different psychologically practice and competition are, and it takes a lot of competing to get your brain to calm down and do in competition what you do in practice nearly every day.

Yeah. Axel tried, but it was a pretty big weakness that it felt like their leader was their coach instead of one of them. That's something I noticed during the scrims. There were a lot of things that contributed. For one, they did their risky plays during scrims which means that other teams now know about them and they can't do it during the actual tourney. Two, they didn't have a solid shot caller. Three, Altare wanted to switch characters but never got the chance to. The players that tend to do well in the tournament are ones that stick to a safe plan.

Basically she's got no nerve and has nervous breakdowns under the slightest amount of stress. So she's actually really good as long as she's relaxed and would definitely be the best IGL(her best content is streams where she does all her thinking out loud and explains all her decisions and reactions in real time while playing, and did an entire solo to masters while doing it), but she's afraid of the responsibility so she rejects being the leader even though she's the obvious choice, but then it's SO obvious that she feels responsible even when she ISN'T the IGL and becomes even more nervous and guilty when things go poorly. Yes, she's got several streams where she easily keeps up with pros as her teammates(by keeps up I don't mean matches, I mean she's actually contributing to fights and not dying with no damage or kills) and does it while joking around talking about other things even when they're fighting entire pred stacks of other pro players. Essentially she's a boosted bitch MENTALLY, as she gains a superhuman increase in mental durability and skill when on a team with good players, dips down into low masters by herself, and implodes into bronze on a team of shitters.
I think it's not even an internal thing, it's her worry and anxiety about the other players on her team that fucks with her. Because she's comfortable leaving pro players alone and even shitting on them, knowing they won't take it personally and deal with worse all the time, she does better. But with newbie teammates she's constantly stressed about ruining the game or stressing them out, or being a bad collab partner.
Her specific weakness is tournaments, because then even WITH pros and ex pros on her team she still implodes out of fear of choking and ruing their chances at a win.

That's definitely a huge part of it, thinking back to her meltdowns when she played with Bobon last year. Axel has a really good big picture view of the game though, he almost always nails where the zone is going to be and what the right spot is which is a great IGL skill. He falls apart when they get into fights which is why they ended up switching out and having Selen call when they start shooting. Ended up being super confusing though.

She had the opportunity to utilize her role during the first game but got downed immediately.
Not that she would've been much use if she survived since she decided to skip looting ammo despite being low.

Go back to their first couple scrims and she didn't say shit, but also it didn't work because Axel can only call zones he can't call fights. This just made it more confusing though because they don't always switch off smoothly and end up countercalling or bickering with Altare stuck in the middle.
