It took me 2 years until I realized how good anki can be. You just have to install a bunch of addons, extensions and note types. Can be a pain but once I did it, it made the workflow actually enjoyable. I literally spent the last 2 years using everything but anki because I hated how it looked and operated. Now I can finally say goodbye to:
wanikani
bunpro (honestly pretty useful, but time to go)
memrise
migaku
kaniwani
all the other shit which costs and isn't as effective

nta but if you're a lazy piece of shit like me, it keeps you from lapsing too much when you go long periods of not properly consuming content. It also makes it easier to retain words that don't appear often enough on their own to remember, but often enough it's worth knowing.
If you're going hard on properly reading/watching nip stuff every day, then it won't benefit much. Unless your retention is absolute garbage, like mine is.

I suppose, though won't hold any expectations.
I propose we share some JP clipping channels, and potentially make a pastebin of them for the OP. Having a transcript helps a fuck tonne for me.
Here's a dump if the ones I use, most of which are holo-centric. I need to look for some 774 related ones if they exist. I focus on channels that don't add excessive or overly loud sfx. That shit is an immediate close from me.

I'll ask, because its interesting to see how this varies. How long did it take you to learn the kana? (properly, where you could recall it perfectly every time). I'd say about 2-3 weeks for me. I would sit down at a park bench and write down anecdotes for each one.

nta but it probably took me 2-4 weeks as well when I finally started working on it consistently. I just did some grinding in the morning at my first job since I went in about an hour earlier than most everyone else. I used one of the kana grinding sites, though I think the OP link has its own these days. I think I added a couple of rows each day and went until 100+ kana read correctly, increasing that number each day after all kana were in rotation.
I am god awful at rote memorization, but none of the usual methods meant to help with learning really work with me either, so I am stuck with this. Someone could probably easily grind them out and memorize them within a week or two if they did what I did two or three times a day instead.
Keeping at it for 3 years with minimum effort most days has let me get good enough to at least play the Dragon Quest games, with no need for guides from IV onward too. If I actually tried to force myself to read a news article or two a day I'd probably be much further along.

Don't watch children's shows, they aren't easy for foreigners, they're easy for native children, which is extremely different. Just pick something you really like and start watching with Japanese subs you can yomichan or read digitally. everything can be found on the link at the top or moeway etc.

>> No.47636094

>>47634672
I echo what the other Anon said. It's best you just choose something you really like and watch that. Kids shows are going to bore you to death and even as a beginner you might not understand much, which can become demoralizing considering its for children. At least with regular content you'll be engaged. That said, if you really want to watch them then there's some torrents available on nyaa. There's even a Doraemon one with 400 episodes in it.

>> No.47643727

>>47643286
Japanese grammar is way more simple and logical than Spanish grammar especially for verb tenses (I studied Spanish so I know how much difficult are verb tenses), but it's totally different because Japanese is an isolated language. So it depends on if you can actually easily learn new way of seeing sentence

>> No.47644578

>>47643286
It shouldn't be too hard, unlike the Germanic v Latin in the west with regards to learning German or French as an English or Spanish speaker, you shouldn't have more issues or problems learning the language as a spanish speaker since Japanese is an isolated language with no ties to western languages, so long as you are able to memorize the kanas, kanji, sentence structures and grammar you should be fine, and you'll have no more problems than an English speaker trying to learn Japanese. Just remember to not give up on learning it, as it's very easy to just give up on learning the language and that's what most people end up doing.

No more issues than a native of any other non asian language. Only reason Japanese is considered to be so hard for everybody but the chinese basically is because you don't have the latin/germanic language family buff where you get tens of thousands of words basically for free, Kanji also makes things harder but it wouldn't be as big of an issue if we all started out with a ton of free words. Also being bilingual is a buff, you've already done it once, so you know that you can do it and how you did it, which is already better than 99% of people who expect that they can just use duolingo or a textbook and do nothing else

Learning a language like this is honestly better than learning it the "proper" way since you're being exposed to the "real" language that people actually speak instead of things specifically written to be taught. Luckily for us we are on a board dedicated to basically the best immersion material for learning Japanese outside of flying to Japan. Get yourself some basics under your belt then watch vtubers all day while keeping up your reps and you're golden.
