It's just not a very smart move to make when every "fair" 3v3 is realistically a 50/50 for you. The smarter way is to secure a strong position in the endgame ring, or path yourself so you're always in a good spot. Then just get freebies, and if you have to 3v3, you'll be isolated.

Despite boasting of inheriting titanfall 2's movement mechanics, the game encourages staying still as much as possible, and has a bit too many mechanics to slow your movement, so the most safe and realistic scenario is cover shooting until everyone's abilities are ready, and then MAYBE go in for the kill.
It's honestly unsatisfying since you spend so much time playing perfectly to not get caught in a bad spot, but even in a very good engagement you can get killed nearly instantly, so that's 15-20 minutes gone to shit, since those whole 15-20 minutes are a buildup to prepare for a good fight and you can lose to honest to god bullshit

The ultimate issue behind most of their problems is that Axel's macro is just not that good, he was the designated IGL from the beginning because Altare didn't play Apex and Selen didn't want the pressure of being IGL, and Axel did watch a bunch of competitive Apex and was supposedly good at handling rotations and shit but in reality he was always a shit IGL, most of their good performances in scrims came from lucky breaks or individual clutch performances, usually from Selen, and Axel's shot calling remained shit throughout an entire month of practice. Their lack of skill with valk ulting was the #1 difference. I truly believe they would have top 10'd with Altare off of Valk. Selen lost confidence in Axel's calls after game 2's bad valk ult, and that got them killed in game 3 when she started arguing with him and they ended up getting pinched from doing nothing. Game 4 Selen died from detaching herself off the valk ult. Game 5 their mental was completely broken and only Axel wanted to try seriously. I only know him from his Payday streams but he's the kind of guy who bashes his head against a problem until he beats it. During that payday stream he tried to get them to do stealth on a really difficult heist and they were too low level for it but he kept pushing them to beat it. Here's the issue that a lot of you dragoons that gaslight Selen into Apex stream spamming fail to understand, the types of viewers that watch you because you stream ranked FPS games are different than the viewers that watch you because you make engaging content

The kind of viewers that you accumulate as a competitive one game streamer ONLY want to watch that one game and ONLY want to watch when you are doing well.
Selen has doomed her channel like all of those LoL, Dota and CoD streamers, who used to be a big deal back in the day but now that those games have fallen off and they want to play other games, they can't, because they spent all their effort on amassing a community surrounding that one game and have intrinsically tied their entire persona to it by not diversifying their content hard enough.

A great example is someone like Amaz, who used to be incredibly popular in the Hearthstone scene, regularly getting over 6k+ CCV a decade ago, to now barely scraping by around 500 CCV despite still being an entertaining streamer.
