Idol music is trash honestly

Suisei has a great voice but the production that is basically "Add 12385129 instruments and it will sound good" is horrible. The best hololive songs are the ones with the most simplistic instrumentals (ex. Unison)
Some of the best albums of all time are praised by their density with how much they can achieve on their production while mixing it properly so the audio is balanced.(Kid A, Abbey Road, Is This It, To Pimp A Butterfly)
Not saying Idol Music should be like any of those albums but it goes to show that making a well mixed song can make it 1000 times better because you are able to hear each parts of the instrumental and the vocals of the singer.

Yeah suisei has good songs there is indeed some idol songs that are good but that is more the exception than the norm, You found 1 good song out of literally thousands of J-Pop songs that have the same tempo, the same chord progression, the same song structure, the same production style and the same shitty mixing.

I'm not a deadbeat, but I think RIP's success can be attributed to:
1.Released at a point when her CCV was the highest
2.It was her debut song, so many people were looking forward to see what kind of music she was going to release
3.The beat itself is simple but quite good (listen to the instrumental)
4.It's like a character song that fits her shinigami branding perfectly. Yes, the lyrics aren't exactly a masterpiece, but I don't think I've heard a single character song from anime that could be considered a high quality piece of song writing. Heck, many holos pump out cringe songs about being cute/pon/shy/<anything generic> all the time

Mori was my least favorite Myth right form the start, but I still listened to RIP many times because it's just one of those songs that you can listen without paying any attention to the lyrics. However, I'm ESL, so I wouldn't be surprised if native speakers don't feel the same.
