It's possible, I think they're a top 10 team, but they'd have to have the mother of all good days to pull it off. Basically, they'd need a fair bit of luck or to iron out some of their mistakes in the next few days.

>Then maybe people might complain enough to get the point system fixed for next time
Kuzuha becomes a 5 pointer. Nah but seriously though, I can feel the gears turning in Hal's head as he tries to figure out how he's been scammed into thinking Altare is a 3-point player. He watches Altare's PoV a lot during scrims to see how he plays.

Couple of days I should say, there's only a couple more scrims sessions left before the big one. Altare still needs more time to develop as an APEX player and Axel's calls are still a bit rough. Maybe Noct can incentivize them by offering to buy them all jet skis or something if they win vsaikyou?

It’s literally like a sports anime. It’s highly unlikely they’ll win but I would love a top 10 placement. Even the 3 point monster thing is kino.

>> No.47215543

The thing I'm liking is how well they banter with their coaches (iPN too, not just Noct). Everyone's spewing bullshit and banter, dogpiling the coach, then bam immediate tryhard mode game review with total deference to the coach, and then the moment's passed so back to clowning again.

>> No.47215887

It's a tournament arc baby. Tournament arcs are kino and you're seeing why now. I got sucked in a couple of years ago when Astel teamed up with Roboco and Choco to form ARCstars, even though I rarely watched APEX streams back then. You get all attached to one team, but they exist in among other teams with familiar members that have their own stories.

His game sense and movement are plat but his aim and tracking are about as good as any of the masters in the lobby. His ability to snipe and earn the whole team purple armors by final circle is a utility no other 3pt member brings to the table. There's no way he's worth 8pts but if we were at least trying to make the point valuations fair he should be at least 5 or 6. But if we go there you'd have to reevaluate like 70% of the lobby. There isn't a single team that wouldn't be affected by a lobbywide recalculation of points.

Yeah, they have a good dynamic. I don't care about Apex at all, but I've watched a lot of their practice streams and they've all been a lot of fun. It's a good mix of goofing around between rounds and serious training, and having different coaches pop in at various points in the arc has helped to keep things fresh as well.

>> No.47227936

Apex by itself is boring.
Watching them interact with each other and banter early / mid / inbetween games and being the underdog is what makes it interesting.
Startend didn't make me feel the same way TSB does, can't put my finger on why though. Probably because everyone and their mother's dog believed that startend would win it all because Aqua was their fps goddess, while no one really believes in TSB due to several factors such as ping.

>Probably because everyone and their mother's dog believed that startend would win it all because Aqua was their fps goddess

Not really, the hype was from people that had never watched vsai before and thought Aqua's solo skill would be enough to overcome her awful teamplay (it didn't). It was surprising just how hard they shit the bed though. TSB is way better as a team and have a better shot at going all the way than Startend.

True, but you could also argue that Axel and Selen are overvalued by at least a point - Axel's improved a lot but is probably still the weak link, and Selen's doing great but I still wouldn't say she's worth the full 10 points compared to the others in the lobby. So just donate a point each and Regis is a fair 5.
