The best vtuber to watch is Sakura Miko (Elite Miko)

She is funny, entertaining, great at improvising to fill dead air, has well behaved EOPs, and a great dynamic with her 35p. As far as collabs go she is one of the best and knows how to play to her collab partner's strength to make the most entertaining collab possible. She also does a lot of them and has great rapport with a ton of members so her collabs are always great.

If you don't understand japanese she is rather EOP friendly for a couple of reasons. She is a master of visual comedy which means that even if you can't understand what she is saying you are still going to have a good time and laugh at what she is doing. She also makes great use of her unorthodox voice for tons of funny noises. She also frequently has live translators if that is your thing due to her being pretty popular. So again, if you are an EOP don't be afraid to dive right into a Miko stream. Keep the stream culture in mind though. Hololive got recognition in the west due to Miko saying Nigger so the EOPs she has are some of the oldest EOPs in hololive and they are very well behaved compared to some of the others. Don't go into a Miko stream acting like an asshole EOP.

If you do understand japanese though, wow, you are in for a hell of a stream experience. Miko likes to talk and she talks a lot. My japanese isn't even good but even knowing a little bit increases your stream experience with Miko by a lot. I have learned so much about her over my time watching her that I feel like I know her. She constantly talks about her childhood, her life experiences, how much she loves her co-workers, deep topics, comedic topics, emotional topics, etc. Nothing is off the table especially during her superchat readings. You need to stick around for those as that is where she gets into her deeper discussions (other then membership streams of course).

I simply can't recommend her enough! Oh, and to add on to the point I made earlier about her being great with visual comedy. She has moveable hands now so her visual comedy power just pretty much doubled. It's insane what she does with those hands.

Without knowing anything about your tastes there's very little we can say except take a look at the major English-speaking vtuber groups (i.e. HololiveEN and Vshojo) and watch a few videos of their prior streams playing games you like. If the experience clicks, try watching videos of them doing non-gaming-related things. If it doesn't fit your expectations after that, you tried your best.

Just watch streams of the games that you like. I listen to HoloEN on my second screen in background because music or podcasts are too distracting when I work. If you want fun stuff, just watch compilations.
