>This picture makes me want an action story where you take on all five members of holox at once in a fight, and only just lose by a hair’s breadth
I just had the craziest idea. In fact, it's probably a stupid idea that would never work and is doomed to fail. But what if I were to write a non-linear story, told out of chronological order, using only prompts that are discussed in the thread (that gain a fair amount of traction)? It might sound idiotic since the prompts would have no connection to each other, but maybe part of the challenge is to connect those prompts into a coherent story, adding small changes and tweaks.
There was already some discussion about doing this with my previous work, where a story is told out of order, but what if I restricted myself to only using thread prompts to craft the narrative? Could be a difficult yet entertaining challenge, or a completely retarded idea. What do you guys think? Yay? Nay?

>> No.47037962

The best way to coordinate a group work is to take the first step yourself. People discuss working on fics as a collective all the time, but it will never go anywhere so long as no one actually starts writing it.

>> No.47038194

>>47037962
I'm gonna be honest, the idea of making it a group project didn't occur to me. The only 'collaborative' aspect of the story I had in mind would be me taking prompts that are interesting and could be tweaked to fit into the story. Even then I'd rather the thread continue on as usual instead of making prompts catered to the narrative I'm writing.
The premise of a collaborative /wg/ fic is extremely tempting, but as a wise anon once said,
>Trying to make /wg/ cooperate is like trying to herd cats.
As great as it'd be, I don't think a collaboration would be possible with more than two, maybe three anons.

>> No.47038215

>>47037880
This sounds like a creative project you probably should have started before 'revealing' to the thread given that you're basically asking if you could make a story out of a prompt collage.
I'm not sure it could actually work, but honestly this seems like something where the result is going to come out janky even if it somehow manages to tell a story. If you're committed to it go for it, this is going to be more on the 'art' side even if it's working with text anyway so it's not like the writers here can give much advice.

>this is going to be more on the 'art'
Maybe, I feel as though there's potential for a proper script in there based on how I handle it. The main obstacle would be finding prompts that actually fit into the story without forcing it.

You have a point, but taking on the challenge seems like a lot of fun. >(You) were formerly a Cover Corp manager, but the restructuring of the company (and a scandal involving your alleged molestation of the idols) got you fired. So you ended up on the streets as one of Japan's many homeless men.
>One day, you cross paths with your former talent. She's all grown-up now, and is a proud mother. She's also grown up in... All the right places.
>You immediately fly into a rage, blaming the chuuba for your misfortune. In reality, you're just blowing off steam, but the chuuba begs for your forgiveness.
>So, in the darkness of your homeless man hut, you force the chuuba to wear her old uniform (which you, being a pervert, saved for all these years). Both of you fuck, with her trying her best to roleplay as the chuuba she once was.
>But slowly, you notice that she's adopted the more experienced, more veteran techniques of older women. That's not what you want. You wanted the innocence and purity of an idol, not the skilled ways of a slattern she-wolf. So you end up slapping her with your dick and criticize her performance with the same caliber you did when you managed her

Well here's the full review for your ''soulful'' indie
Its decently rigged, but her hair constantly clips because it cant keep up withe head animation which makes her looks like she's a spazz despite the fairly normal movements she's doing. She very clearly is aware of this because she has to overcorrect her model, which has good expressions.
TLDR: your oshi's model looks like one of those 60fps anime clips, it has too much going on because the rigger is not aware of stop and go motions so she has to constatly readjust her movement

You kinda gotta read the air in the room that if you suggest a prompt with a non-holo or well known niiji, you'll need to give potential writers something to work with and make them WANT to invest their attention on your chuuba. It wasn't exactly a slight against you or your gobbo oshi when the dude asked you to sell her to everyone. A few anons also chimed in and said she wasn't really for them or that interesting due to a number of factors that have nothing to do with being corpo or not. I mean, by virtue of being a goblin she COULD land an npc slot in some stories. If you present her good points and how she could be interesting to write about, that might be much more well received.

Exactly! Something like
>With your domination of Cover Corp complete, all that's left is to do away with the old guard -- the shitters who are behind the company's decline.
>This particular shitter in the management department really has to go because he fucking harassed the talents, apparently. So you have A-Chan deal with it.
>"Don't worry, sir, I'll take care of Anon Anonson."
>The mere mention of the name makes you freeze. You've been living under an assumed identity for so long that your old name has slipped your mind.

Hell, you could have apologized for chimping out and im sure someone here would have heard you/given you feedback if you decided to write something, but since you doubled down while peeing and shitting, enjoy paying someone to write about your oshi, because i doubt anyone will pick your idea just to spite you

I don't particularly doubt my skills, but I do know that when compared to some of them, there is still MUCH room for improvement. In theory there's two ways out of this hole, either get better at framing dialogue scenes such that 'talking head syndrome' doesn't set in from the other things happening in the scene or git gud at making interesting dialogue such that you can actually get away with having the characters be talking heads since the dialogue is flowing well enough that the reader is kept interested by the back and forth.

This is a stretch but oh well. There's this Rwby fanfic called ''Not this time Fate'' where a timelooper character gives up. they tried time and time to fix the loop but they failed, and now are jaded and tired.
So i was wondering if that type of history could work here. Anon is a jaded timelooper, one that has looped for years triying to save the company of ''the nuclear yab'' but he keeps failing, so fuck it! its now time to do his own thing

>> No.47112136

Sounds interesting. Does he control when time rewinds, or does a certain event that he can’t prevent trigger the loop to return to the beginning?

>> No.47112702

>>47112136
in the original story, he's ''locked in'' in a loop until he dies, but he always comes back to the starting point, it being the start of his schoolyear.
With that logic here, anon starts at say, his first day in the company. I actually like it this way so he cant save scum progress and adds to the idea that this jaded individual cant just use their knowledge to fly through the loop

>> No.47112885

>>47110772
So this would be a no/minimal powers variation of the usual tokyo chuubas setting? Cause as interesting as the loop would be I'm pretty sure having Ame and Kronii be real time travellers kind of fuck with the concept since then it turns into "Give them loop knowledge so they can fix everything".

>> No.47113146

actually i was wondering how both variations could coexist
the first one, the non powers one, would pretty much play out with anon saving the company from the nuclear yab thanks to a healthy dose of acceptance, his own handiwork, the relationships he managed to not fuck up and a dash of comedy

The second one tcould use the ''checkpoint'' system for slapstick deaths/suicides (as people previously discussed here) and feature one of the two time travelers. Could be that Kronii sent you to stop the nuclear yab, but she cant remember and you have to fill her in, and Ame is putting her two cents in but she's not as prominent. Or viceversa, Ame sent you and Kronii is too depowered to make it work
>>47112982
i had to google it, i didnt know there was a movie with that premise

>> No.47113691

>>47110772
>>47113146
In theory I think it could work. It's just that it has the 'baggage' of being a timetravel fic in that you need to at least plan out/have an outline for the key events of the timeline then plot out the necessary info/character growth needed in order to 'fix' it while also having to have the 'goof off/fuck around' timeline be the ultimate key to ending it since it needs to be the 'key timeline' for the story to work narratively.

Ninisanni Scenario VN writer anon, are you here? I've been going through the Selen route and I want to make a request. Please go deeper into the events of World War 3, the nuking of Washington DC, and the Chinese genocide. I genuinely love this lore and want to see it expanded upon. I also want to know if it's responsible for the conversion of Japan into a communist government that allows private gun ownership.

I NEED THE LORE, DULLA-CHAN.

Anon the entire point of a /wg/ mass collab fic would be to gather as many willing writers into contributing into a story that gets passed around round robin style. To butcher your metaphor, you kind of need other dudes in the orgy in order for it to be more than just a normal fic.

Let's collab on a short story! I'll start.

>Sprinting forward and diving, the hail of 9mm narrowly missed as he scrambled into cover, landing on his sore ribs with a whoof of discomfort as he moved to cover, even as the deafening cacophony of gunfire continued. The sound reverberated in the closed space, making every shot far louder - far more potent in making clear the threat posed.
>The knuckles of his fingers ached. The cut above his eye had stopped oozing long ago. The gore covering his shirt was only partially his.
>He had come this far. YAGOO waited for him at the top of the offices - Anon knew he wouldn't flee, not after the man fought his way across the city to reach this point. He thought himself...invincible, perhaps. Or maybe he was curious to see if this lone warrior's mettle was truly unbreakable.
>As the mixture of blood and saliva dripped from Anon's mouth, he pulled the pin on the flashbang he wrenched from the hands of one of the policemen YAGOO had on his payroll, tossing it down the hall as a scream of warning rang out from down it. He would not, could not die here. Not until he had his answers.

Glad you're enjoying it. The Selen epilogue is my favorite out of them all. NODShunting is something you don't see a lot in fiction, but it's one of my favorite hobbies. Sad thing is, you don't get to do it much with friends, cause the barrier to entry is so expensive. It's a little lonesome, seeing how beautiful it is and not being able to share it with anyone. To do it with Selen would be a dream come true.

As for the deep lore in the sequel, I'm trying really, really, really hard not to spoil the setting, because I think it will come as a fun surprise, much like some of the routes.
That said, I will clarify. The sequel takes place after all of the 'ends' but doesn't involve any of the epilogues (barring one, for obvious reasons). The way I see it, the epilogues are concentrated on a specific girl, whereas The Harem End is a canonical, VN length 'end' for the Super Seducer achievement. So because of this, the events in Selen's route haven't happened, at least not yet, because the kids are still in school.
I will say this though. The school setting is done with. I physically cannot write another scenario for the school setting. There's only so much you can do in one building...
There will be a setting change that you won't anticipate (genuinely, even after reading this post, you won't see it coming), and it will stem from... well, call it societal changes. Societal changes in line with what interests you about the Selen route. And obviously everyone will have their opinions on said societal changes. So to answer your question, yes, there will be more setting building.

Nevertheless, the vibe will remain the same romcom, if not a little more ecchi, since the MC has canonically had sex with all nine girls. Specifically ecchi too, not hentai. I'm hearing a lot of feedback, and it seems people prefer ecchi over hentai. That's not to say there won't be any hentai, just the normal amount.
But I'm overexplaining now. All you need to know is It'll be fun as fuck, as twisty and irrational as the first, and pretty beautiful too.

It's funny you say that. What I initially typed in the draft of my reply was "If I have to write another scene set in school setting, I will kill myself on national television", but then I decided to restrain myself for propriety's sake, opting for the "physically cannot..."
School, especially Japanese school, is by and large, boring and tedious. The only merit people find in it is through nostalgia, shared experience, and the sentimentality of youth.
I don't know about you, but I don't have nostalgic memories of learning math. Rather, what's nostalgic is the experiences that surround it, like sports clubs, instigating fights at recess, skipping class to play magic the gathering in the hallways, and flirting with girls during the break periods.
>>47132096
Just in case I haven't mentioned it, affection points will be done away with. You've already won, this End is your reward.

That's if I go with the same length as last time. Extra length will make virtually everything take longer. The length really just depends on what scenes come to me, I intend to write as much as I can without sacrificing quality.

Icing is purely decorative but it is extremely easy to just pour icing on your dish so no person who actually knows how to bake uses icing, they instead decorate it with other, more edible ingredients. Also icing is extremely unhealthy. In 2006 some scientists did a stuff where they put whipped cream next to an ant's nest, and the ants didn't even touch it. >I don't know if you're talking about that Rhodesian pistol that was a flop or pic related, because pic related is actually really kinda cool.
Nah, your pic is right. Though I actually meant the mini-mamba, I forgot there was an original larger version.
I considered getting one. Probably the best .22 for silence and concealment. Threaded barrel for silencing, extremely short barrel, picatinny rail for optics/flashlight, built-in iron sights seem servicable, extractor is good (important when using subsonic rounds).
Only problem is the price point and availability. It's way more expensive than any other .22 pistol.

Okay I just thought about how the 'fuck around' timeline could be the key/end timeline for the loop.
For every loop before this one (You)'d push yourself and everyone around you trying to find the answer for why it happened and why the 'nuclear yab' was so bad for everyone.
Now in this loop you just fuck around, cut everyone some slack, and try to make the best of it before the yab happens... Then it doesn't. Turns out the real solution was just to be a good friend/manager, and maybe use a bit of time knowledge to change some things.

Anon, I really think it is. Just because it can be appreciated, that doesn't mean it will be. That's like hosting an art gallery with your paintings displayed and when nobody turns up you go "Oh but I guess some people out there would enjoy it" in the middle of an empty venue. You'll never get recognition or gratitude. In fact, I can probably compare it to starting up a shop and when nobody buys your products going "Oh but I guess some people out there would buy it". Like sure, that's possible, but you're now bankrupt.
I appreciate trying to cheer up the thread and motivate the writers, but your reasoning just doesn't work.
