There's what players call a champion spot. You can know it from zone movement and forecasting where the other teams will move from that (the map scan you can use to see opponents' positions with recon legends like Seer also help). Valk's job is to get this spot easier instead of walking through all that people camping to shoot you.
Axel's team using Valk is a good choice. It's whether they can see this champion spot that's the problem.
