All words are arbitrary. And parasocial was a well-established term before the internet. Even still, you're describing drowning in water to argue that water is unhealthy. I believe that words shape with even misguided and use, so it's a fool's errand to act like the word won't develop in any direction.
You could just call it an unhealthy obsession. Sure, it's an unhealthy parasocial obsession. But it's not the parasociality alone that makes it unhealthy. You could remove the obsession part of that or the unhealthy part of that, and it wouldn't be that bad at all.

I'll be even more clear. You're actively harming people, including streamers, when you misuse the word. What you could do instead is remind people that it's normal and even mundane to have parasocial feelings. Almost everyone in the current day and age has some form of parasocial interactions. And I'm including people that are literally never online. And I mean that in the literal sense of literal. We might need a new word for what used to be considered "parasocial" but it's a hard kink to iron out when parasocial is a pretty useful - and even explicit - in describing what it used to mean.

I was just trying to establish common ground on what parasocial means to most people. I feel like campaigning around trying to clarify the use of parasocial is pointless. And at this stage it's best to make up new words to describe a healthy/neutral parasocial relationship. Like I said it's been made up and the meaning has been obscured by its misuse and there's no point in trying to reclaim it since it will always hold a negative connotation to anyone who's already heard the word
