I forgot to add that its not a quick process. With VC, it is significantly easier to bond with the person you're directly talking to. You can probably passively groom someone without even trying just by being with them. The talent would subconsciously have favorites and prefer the opinion of one over the other.

nope, mods rarely ever join. And as far as i can see, its not so much grooming, but rather more chances to get noticed, interact with and get remembered by your oshi. And it happends, they have their own inside jokes and phrases, talking about what happened in discord VC on stream etc. I'm personally not against it as much as some other people, but it does sometimes feel like you are not on an even playing field with 10-20 discord NEETs. It also doesn't help that they are going after lewd GFE and it does feel shitty being left out for NEETs because you can't sit in VC all day waiting for your oshi to hop in.
