I think it's a matter of perspective. Hololive was the first agency to really, truly blow up in the west. Kizuna was decently well known but she wasnt nearly the phenomenon that hololive became and currently is now for westerners. I think because of that the expectations and desires of the content are a bit different as a result. take this with a mountain of salt considering any woman /here/ is not a woman you’d encounter outside. I got into it through pekora but only really got into it because of yukinoshita peo. Something about her motivation to learn English and understand western slang just made me want to cheer her on, like I want to see her succeed and be happy. I’ve found myself watching chuubas with similar vibes after. I’m not sure if this is the type of vtuber every woman watches but at the very least I can give my take
