It differs. If you turn the actual scale up more, you will want to turn the threshold percentile up more. With SDE or 2s a, you're "walking on eggshells" because you can end up with an image that either deep fries, starts throwing your negatives directly into the prompt, or both. Using the Aki as an example:

Like I checked my logs, and apparently it's straight up missing something. I've been running without a vae for who knows how long now and I didn't even realize because it shows it as being set. This has to be some kind of UI bug.

Yeah, having it start out at a higher cfg and then go lower doesn't help me. I want it to end at higher cfg for the extra detail.
Switching to using Power Up for the mimic scheduler, and keeping Half Cosine Up for the CFG scheduler, has given me somewhat reliable results in doing that while preventing overburn.
On the topic of "the devs say so" - the devs make no mention of what happens when you play with DPM++ 2s a Karras but you can get a lot of "latent vomit" overburn with that one too.

I A/B tested it. A lot. I'm not searching "mimic CFG" again to backlink the comparisons I actually posted with Toko Inui. The detail I want is in fabric, in clothing, etc. I didn't get it using down schedulers. And down schedulers give you washed out images. Early steps = a lot of the image is still noise. And high cfg at the end is what I noticed putting the details into fabric.

Her design is complicated so don't expect it to get every detail of her design right every time. The AI does do some interesting things with it though. I feel like her wings are still a struggle, but ain't much I can do about it. Anyone thinks they can do better, feel free.
