Obviously all content creators will hide or accentuate certain parts of themselves for the sake of content, but anyone I like has to feel 'genuine' to me, as opposed to 'playing a character'.

Fast forward to the Myth debut and I was excited but the unfortunate thing is that, aside from Gura, none of Myth really clicked with me, and they still don't. I barely watch anything from Myth other than Gura. Don't get me wrong, I like all of them, but the only one I go out of my way to watch is Gura and will really only watch the others if nobody else is on. I was still mainly a HoloJP watcher due to Myth not really clicking with me.

Then along came Council (I'll save IRyS for later) and my vtuber habits changed forever. I was skeptical since I wasn't the biggest Myth fan but there was something different about the Council girls. I immediately clicked with all of them and this was when my viewership started trending more towards EN instead of JP. I still watch all of the Council girls and enjoy them all equally.

Then we get to IRyS and my journey with her is a little more interesting. I watched her in her debut period and got her membership on day 1 but I honestly wasn't impressed. Sure she sang nice but she was kind of boring. Almost like another Ina who I also don't really watch much at all. Any IRyS fan can tell you that it took a while for her to open up. What got me back to watching her was all of those Minecraft collabs that HoloEN was doing in the fall of 2021. That reintroduced me to IRyS and I was like "hey, this girl is a hilarious dork with a motormouth, where is the boring Ina clone she was during her debut period". After seeing her in those collabs I started watching her again and I haven't stopped. She is now my most watched vtuber and I haven't really looked back. I proudly call her my co-oshi along with Miko. Yeah, I watch IRyS more now but Miko holds a special place in my heart that I will never let go of. That is why I usually answer like this when asked who my oshi is.

And then Marine was my oshi, Her little clingy & introspective zatsu, charm and her friendly personality holds a special place in my heart. I remember badly wanting to learn Japanese to understand Marine, but work commitments, etc, so I had zero time to concentrate on that..

But IRyS immediately captured me when I watched her first zatsu. She had the charm and charisma, and that smooth voice. And I could actually understand her. Also she has that unapologetic nature in her personality. In a way, she was kind of EN Marine that I always wanted at that point in time. It all clicked on that very stream; especially when she mentioned that she could "be in a swimsuit! Proudly!"

But I fell in love with her in that first Q&ASMR stream. That stream.. that stream changes a man, bros. The caraoke & 2nd Q&ASMR does not even to scratch the surface on how much she gave her goslings in that very first Q&ASMR.

Yeah, I now a couple IRyStocrats that feel the same way. I didn't start regularly watching her until the Caraoke. That stream really showed me how great of an entertainer she could be and was the first time I watched an extended stream of hers since her debut period where she was kind of boring like you said. That Caraoke stream was special and I've been a dedicated fan ever since.

Got into holo from that famous clip of Pekora almost losing her sword in lava. Slowly from there watched more and more clips, started watching streams of jp girls, that was couple months before gen 5 debuted. If not for Myth, I'd still be watching every single Marine and Mio stream.
Myth happened, I was very skeptical of them, as most people were. But after debut liked them all(except ame, but she redeemed herself on her second stream, as we all know), I'm a day 1 deadbeat. Liked IRyS since debut and fell in love after a month or so of her streams. Honeymoon period doesn't fucking end, every stream she makes me fall for her harder.
