Otsonny!! The loops I can't stop looping ahhh... it's been so long since he last played eastward he was starting to forget the voices, took a minute for me to get used to sam's yelling again too. The last episode was also filled with so many tangential shenanigans that I forgot we were supposed to be in ester city looking for isabel... Of course things don't go as planned when we go through the day and meet everyone, then discover we're in some sort of weird past timeloop thanks to solomon. I thought that faggot was dead?? To be very honest some parts of this first segment were not super fun, i personally didn't mind the repetition of being a groundhog day mailman too much but sonny got pretty impatient with it fairly quickly, and him making himself lightheaded by overdoing the voices again probably didn't help. Maybe I'm just a little bitch baby, who knows. I think I was also in a mood because of the endless fucking stream alerts for the first hour or so because of gifted members holy SHIT. Once Sam realized what was going on and we got back into the actual gameplay to break the loop it got much, much better though. There were a couple major dungeons today, one where we had to do a little graverobbing to get access to Solomon's tower and then the tower itself which was decently long and somewhat difficult. Again, it's funny to me that even the most annoying enemies did not piss him off as much as going through the same dialogue a few times did. The tower had some weird time puzzles with more killer queen fuckery that gave him some trouble but nothing awful, and we manage to break the loop after a slightly anticlimactic boss battle. I liked this chapter! The smaller, more focused cast of characters works well and I enjoyed the voices sonny gave to each of them, especially the scientist Guy, who got progressively creepier as the stream went on. Apparently the earthborn characters are based on this group that helps us, which maybe i would have cared about more if sonny had bothered to touch the little RPG minigame more than twice KEK. William and Daniel, who have been tagging along since early on have steadily grown on me as well... daniel......... your sacrifice will not be in vain you weird little robot boy. After "Mother" possesses Sam a final time and takes off on the choo-choo train of pestilence, it's now john alone who can save his daughter and the world in chapter 8. Seems like next week will be the last week for eastward, and while the game isn't perfect I am both sad about it ending and looking forward to it's (probably bittersweet) conclusion. I'm not expecting every loose end to be tied up with how confusing the plot has been, but I'm hoping we aren't left with too many unanswered questions. Ganbare JAHN... Thanks for the stream taichou!
