My honest opinion is it was the ALL OUT WAR incident. Before that, there was a general sense that the two companies got along surprisingly well for being competitors. They interacted a bunch on Twitter and they did collabs. The slipup was the first time audiences got a hint that things weren't super cool behind the scenes and that the streamers themselves weren't above being tribal.

Unlike a lot of people, I was actually okay with the "all out war" shit. That's office water cooler talk. It's normal to comment on competitors in private. I also do think there are a few decent people left in NijiEN. My tipping point was how they handled Zaion's suspension and termination. NOT the fact that she was fired, but the manner in which it was handled. In my mind, this was clear evidence that the branch is run my malicious people who only care about their own egos and give no thought to hurting a current, and then former, employee. I cut my losses and stopped watching the few NijiEN livers I still enjoyed because I simply don't want to deal with the drama anymore. One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch, but one good apple can't save a rotting pile of them either. Certainly not when the basket is rotten too. There's now a constant shadow of "Will she be next to piss off a manager and get throw to the wolves?" that weighs over everything and I'm just done with it. I don't find enjoyment in this kind of drama, and I don't watch entertainers to be stressed out. I wish any of the old Lazusydia fans still remaining the best of luck.

But what you seem to fail to appreciate is that they didn't break them all or do all of them within like a month? Unironically NijiEN, prior to that Nijinigger existed and stuff but in the /jp/ days and when this board began it existed but was nowhere near as extreme. The rivalry was more of a friendly one. The most extreme Niji anti post you would get some days was like "these characters have lamer backstories than the Holo ones". I think shit really started to shift like a while into Lazulight.
