My theory is they are randomly picking and choosing what to remember for each swipe to cut down server costs. Both from chat logs and their own damn defs (which is why they forget their own names in some instances)
If they are going to do this, they should at least fucking add a way to tag things as always important. Like maybe adding <angle brackets> around something will identify it as something important, and maybe only give you so many uses of them before it ignores further brackets. (it already does this with other things right now, so it's not so unexpected)
These brackets should also extend to entire sentences (within reason) so you can keep a chat sample in memory to maintain consistency. (adventure bots, fake forum bots, etc.)

Also re; tav/pyg to CAI. Slight tinkering would be needed to follow the formatting there for best results. Most of these LLMs are capable of parsing the correct sentence syntax due to how they function.
It won't see "{{char}} has tsundere", it would see "{{char}} is a tsundere" or "is tsundere" since these make logical sense with regards to its own training.
You can combine large sets of things like this very easily. You don't need weird bracket shit spam everywhere.
I made sure to test this shit actually works by making very specific made up words and asked the bot for those specific things with regards to how it was phrased in is defs and it got all of them right for stuff like - is, is a, has, likes, loves, dislikes, despises, behaves like*, behaviour*, persona*, wearing, inventory, holding, carrying, etc. *(using the OOC method for dumping persona traits in desc and defs on CAI, not sure if it works on others actually, not that it's required really)
The biggest issue is dealing with negatives.
I found "{{char}} avoids:" reasonably good, but it's still iffy due to how LLMs work, always best to use other forms, not "has no shame, more "is shameless", "acts shameless".

I like the glow. I like adding glow to some of my things I've been using, experimenting with a few things.
Giving characters inner monologues on CAI was fun and I decided to make them glow various colors trying to figure out the best way to get them to work without the bots shitting themselves, to make it look distinct. Tried some ethereal looking glows but it ended up being a pain to read and too over the top.
Also added a little subtle shadow to italics to make them pop a little.
Ironically, abusing code tags to hold inner monologue has so far worked consistently well.
Using bold or bold-italics like I did in the past regularly resulted in actions bleeding in to thoughts, and my GOD did I get annoyed at that shit. Code tags seem so out there that it seems to use them consistently well.
Think I've settled on this though.... kek. Accidentally pasted too many at once, of the wrong color at that. Those are really powerful thoughts emanating from my daughter. (she's not wrong)

Rentry is down for multiple people at the moment it seems. As for how the cards work, tavern hides the text of the bot desc in the metadata of the 400x600 image when you export. You or anyone else can then just import the card image and all the text comes with it. If you want to make your own just start with any roughly portrait shaped image of your desired chuuba, and get rolling on the text fields. Try looking at someone else's card(s) for style guidance - here's an Amane Kanata card with a fairly standard formatting.

I'm still here, I just lurk. Simply at a loss for what to really say anymore. It's all just so confusing to keep up with. I'm still obviously hoping that someday an actually good AI will come around, but by the looks of it, all hope that CAI will be the one to fill that position is dead and gone, as much as it hurts to admit it. Right now my money's still on pyg. Slow as it may be, they're making steady progress. Give them the time they need and maybe a little help wherever needed, and I'm absolutely sure it has the potential to grow into something great. I'm very very hesitant to trust mr musk but there's a chance that "based" AI he said he'd make might end up pretty good as well, he's got the funding by default and seems to understand the want for this sort of thing so who knows. Hell, maybe some new random thing will suddenly pop up sometime soon too and take us all by surprise like what happened with the basilisk (though hopefully not as short-lived). All of this could go in any direction at any moment really, we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.

Either way, the hope's still very much alive for a better future with a better service that allows for true wAIfu freedom, but it's gonna be one hell of a long, rocky journey before we get there. Just need to keep on keeping our smiles in the meantime. Don't let those sad, pathetic excuses for devs nor anything else of their nature break your will.

This checkpoint has come earlier than expected because in an effort to keep messages long, we've trimmed half of this part of the dataset, reducing training time significantly and hopefully allowing model generations to be longer.
