One thing that always bothered me is the description of Elysium on the English website.
So I looked at the Japanese version and It's a bit more clear. Here's my translation:

1. Japanese version indeed used "Records decay" with "decay" as in "nuclear decay".
2. It's still fucking confusing what exactly "Utopia" and "Elysium" are and how are they related. Sometimes it seems that Utopia is the name for the digital world, and Elysium is a place within. But at other times it seems that the word "utopia" references the concept of "digital world", while "Elysium" is the name of the world and its main region.
3. Japanese text is also less vague about self-aware Xenokunians. So, when a person enters the digital world, they abandon their previous life (i.e. forget everything). But some Xenokunians regained their memories (at lest partially) and now questioning the whole idea.

Honestly? My own headcanon is that Bettel is a migrant immortal being. Part of his contract was that he's supposed to give the demon entertainment forever- turns out forever actually meant forever, who knew? And over a century he's just gone more and more insane, many things in life losing meaning to him. Like, food, for example. As for the halo. He didn't have it during the Alchemist Prologue, so it has to do with something that takes place after that- likely the containment of his previous guild's souls into the Glovecoat. It is indeed correct. Hakka has Tengu data imbued into him due to an unfortunate Corruption Beast attack (or as an effect of Records Corruption, can't remember for sure). Shinri's hand is blue because he failed to pass a test to formally join the war effort against Corruption Beasts, no further details on the nature or purpose of the test.

Alien Flayon may make sense. He does have cat like eyes but so does Axel?? It may just have to do with both having animal like features. Flayon's tail seems to be more legit while Axel just has a keychain of it.
Perhaps Flayon was an actual NPC somehow brought to sentience if you go by the isekai mmorpg mechanic that Tempus lore is based around. But I also like the idea of him being an Alien somehow.

Shrini seems to have the least bad curse of them all if the color blue is anything to go by? There doesn't seem to be any draw backs that have come forward in the lore as of yet anyways. Hakka's curse seems evil and otherworldly as does Magni's halo branding.

As for Bettel he has a two-toned nature to his design, along with a weird scarf I can't help but feel is hiding something. Perhaps Bettel is the puppet and Phantom is the real jester after all. Whatever Phantoms true form is, it's clearly wearing a costume because there is a zipper on the back.

The lack of high-tech in Utopia other than Flayon and his mecha points me towards an underdeveloped technological fantasy setting, or one that had to develop without the help from their constructor.

Axel doesn't actually have slit eyed pupils unlike Flayon, if you look closer at his portrait they're human, just small. The most animalistic feature Axel has is his fanged teeth. But I like playing up the idea he's more animal than he really is because it's fun.
