Their economy is at the end stage of third world cheap labour shit hole but has yet to have a real estate development boom and formation of a middle class. The infrastructure is decent (they're all online after all) and there are lots of young people who earn money but its disposable because their families aren't clawing for survival like they were a generation ago yet there aren't any good investment opportunities for them to build a future, so there's this generation of young weebs who like vtubers and will spend money on it. And of course, for the vtubers themselves, its cheap as fuck to live there so they live like kings on modest earnings that wouldn't pay your rent in Western Europe/NA urban hubs.

Not really. There's a fundemental difference between SEA and India, anyone with some knowledge about the macroeconomy will understand.

Indian economy is very protected and inward looking, meaning that their entire economy is focused on fullfiling domestic demands while they keep the competition from outside to be as little as possible. Only USA succeeded using that tactics so far and it requires them 150 years since independence to be rich.

SEA is following the already proven East Asian model, export oriented economy. In the case of Indonesia, it used to be like India, but in the last 10 years Indonesia has taken various reforms similar to Japan and Korea back in their 60s-70s or China in 80s. Those reforms are almost impossible to do in democratic countries (India can't) except one party state like Japan, that's why any global investors is positive about Indonesia. East Asian model in a democratic country? Indonesia is basically Japan in the making.
