Outside of Hololive I tried watching Pomu and Ironmouse but dropped them after a couple of streams.
Without getting into details, I think the main reason for me was that I didn't like their communities.

The real answer is simple. The Taiwan yab. That was basically the defining moment when the fanbase was united and the holobox was solidified. Being up front, outside of 5 talents (Pekora, Marine, Gura, Suisei, Korone) I can't really say that the other Holomems is better than the rest of the vtuber field. What really made the fans become diehards was the whole Taiwan debacle. You weren't just a passive viewer at that point, you actively wanted to support and see everyone through that ordeal. Add to the fact that you had major corpos like Asus and Mahoyo, not to mention other vtuber companies lessening if not outright cutting ties with Hololive itself (e.g Mea, Nijisanji sans a few livers, even Noripro for a time) and it really felt like it was Hololive against the world. And that kind of scenario really captured the imagination and Saviour fag tendencies of the fanbase. Its the difference between cheering for your favorite player regardless of what team they play for and cheering for your hometown team that you've known since forever. That's also the reason why I seriously doubt that any vtuber company will ever be able to replicate the holobox as a whole. VShoujo had the perfect opportunity to maybe tap into that with the whole Silvervale yab , but actually having to do it is a different story.

And regardless of anything, nobody likes to support a potentially-dying ships. Hololive have shown from time-to-time that they're willing to support even their bottom-feeders so you feel more comfortable supporting Hololive knowing (and hoping) that they will still support everyone in the company, including potentially your oshi. Until that changes, I probably will still be hololivefans

Strong? Yes. But there are others who can be considered almost if not just as good as them. The main reason why the other Holomems consistently get strong numbers, even above what they're normally capable of is because they have access to the box. Those 5 that I mentioned however, I consider as streamer/content creator savants either because they are just that good at creating content or they possess insane levels of charisma that override their shortcomings.

I have tried other vtubers and even going back to watch fleshstreamers,
but I always decide to tune in to a Hologirl. There are very very few Holomembers that I dont like watching - but there is an equal amount of few streamers that I enjoy watching outside of Hololive.
Here is the most important part though, the time during the day where I can spend time watching vtubers is primetime JST. As I am winding down from my workday usually the most interesting streams at this time is done by Holos and every so often some Niji event.
