I've actually been going through a lot of different models and testing, which is why goatposting had a little break. I finally ended up using OrangeCreamyPesto I think it's called (some anon linked it a few threads back, and a few threads before that, and some times before that.... it's been going around), I haven't actually tried for Roboco on this one, since I quickly realized she wouldn't really work with the whole satyr concept, and I could imagine the robot legs and goat legs not getting along. Time will tell with akirose, will keep your advice in mind.

It's nice that hf gib all that free space, but there's no point in wasting it. EMA weights in a merged model aren't really necessary, and only seem to be necessary for further training. And using fp16 models for Colab will mean faster loading times. Storing them yourself locally means saved space.

Don't you have 6 GB RAM? You can probably do a batch size of 2. Don't count on being able to do more than 1 hi-res fix image at a time with an upscaler like lollypop or any of the ESRGAN ones, you don't have enough VRAM for it period. Ah, a bit better than mine. I can run a batch size at 8 as long as the image size is at 512x512 or below. And have run some x/y plots of over 100 images and been fine. Usually I upscale in img2img instead of highres fix, but that's because I often like changing settings around which I can't do with highres fix. I run at --medvram and if I want real stability I run at --lowvram.

I've used it plenty but I've never actually touched its settings. I looked into a better way to experiment with its settings the other day and found several examples of C and C++ code that'd make a simple canny edge detection program that let you control those same two sliders and see how the output changes. I find myself doing constant tweaking per image, especially when it comes to the ControlNet weights. I tend to put it between 0.05 - 0.25, otherwise my chuubas lose their visual traits and start looking like the people on the source image. If that's what you're going for, then crank those weights up.

For 'resize', mostly "Just Resize", but if I notice their proportions are a bit off, I change it to "Scale to Fit".

Consider Vince and Jules below. Guess which one gave me a better image? The weird part is that it just randomly adds figures, trying to use 1girl too but it only seems to work sporadically without inpainting. For training embeddings, loras, db you just use pruned.
For finetuning, in theory, you need those extra weights. In reality it doesn't matter that much (for this kind of training).
hll1 was trained from pruned model, 3.1 was trained from not-pruned. Both work.
You only absolutely, 100% need those weights + stuff like optimizer state when resuming your own training with similar dataset and similar settings.

Additional networks extension has option "Separate UNet/Text Encoder weights"
You can try setting TEnc weight to 1 and and U-net to 0 for example, no need to merge.
